Update: Sorry I haven't posted for awhile. Saige has been going through a lot the last couple of months. She was having headaches still after the radiation for the 11 tumors. The headaches kept getting worse and she got to where she wasn't eating. Saige is a strong lady so it took us a few days to get her to go to the hospital. She was in the hospital from May 4th through May 9th. Once there, she got a petscan and a brain mri. We found out that one of her large tumors was growing, the other large one was showing activity plus she had a new tumor. She started radiation to those tumors immediately while still in the hospital. She had 5 rounds of radiation. We have since found out that the new tumor is almost gone amd the other 2 have shrank. She also started a new chemo the next week. Before she could start the chemo, she has to have an eye exam because the chemo can cause dry eye. We found out that she had bleeding around the nerves at the back of both eyes most likely from the pressure in her brain from the tumors. She had 1 treatment of a diffetent kind of chemo while waiting for test reaults then went onto the chemo she is currently on. She has been having trouble with her back since around the time she was in the hospital in May. The family took Saige to the ocean in Oregon for her birthday the end of May. It is on her bucket list. We stayed for 6 days and had a good time while relaxing at a house with a view of the beach. She did some shopping, enjoyed some good resturants and time on the beach. They had beach wheelchairs there so we checked one out on Saturday and Sunday so she could get out to the water. If you know someone using a wheelchair or just cant walk long distances I would highly recommend the beach wheelchair. Saige's back just slowly got worse and worse. We told multiple doctors about it and didn't get any real response from them. Mainly they said its probably from the chemo. As her back kept getting worse, her right hip started hurting her also. She finally went from being able to still use her walker to not being able to get up or walk on her own in a matter if 2 days. She went back to the hospital on June 23rd till the 25th. They wouldn't do an mri unless she was admitted so we said admit her. She had an mri on her back where we found out that she has a fracture of her L2 vertabrae and cancer in her left hip. The doctors think the fracture happened when she was falling and had a couple of seizures the first part of May before she went into the hospital then. She is now in a back brace for at least 6 weeks. She is still in a lot of pain even with jer meds increased. The day she went into the hospital, she had an appointment with her radiologist to go over brain mri results. We found out that she has 16 new brain tumors. Most are 2mm with one being 5mm. She started radiation on the left hip. After 3 treatments and her right hip getting so bad she could no longer put weight on it at all, her doctor looked over her scans again and found that she has cancer in her right femur head. They started doing radiation on both hips last Thursday. She will start radiation on her brain again next week. She has a new petscan coming up on Tuesday. We are asking for prayers because we know God is the great physician and it is in his hands. I always knew my girl was strong but she has shown more strength and grace than anyone I know.
