I spoke on webinar today with some amazing friends representing my non profit, .

Surreal moment for me.

When I was 16 years old, awaiting my diagnosis results after all my testing, a copy of ADDitude magazine was on that table. I read through it and could not believe how much I related to the ADHD content in there.

I was really struggling at the time, and seeing that other people related to me was really key.

Nowadays, I run the largest online (and in person) community for men with ADHD and the people behind ADDitude mag are colleagues who I get to work with.

I also get to work with greats who inspire me, such as (our operations director and amazing coach), , and (sadly I didn’t get him in the pic!) - all who I spoke with on this panel.

I’m no saint. I have plenty of flaws and still am growing to this day.

But, 16 year old me would be proud.

Let’s go.

Looks like I’m holding a new born baby 🤣

was PHENOMENAL.

I remember watching Superman the animated series on Saturday mornings when I was a child (as I waited for Batman to come on, of course) & watching this film was the first time I felt like that kid again in a while.

9/10. I am thankful that is putting DC back on the map.

Saying “no” for me lately has meant…

* REFUSING to do things that are outside of my bandwidth and requirements.

* shutting down the nonsense guilt that comes about, making me think I’m a bad person for not over extending myself for someone else. Bu****it.

* understanding that if someone has a problem with my “no”, then it’s only their problem. Not mine.

* forgiving myself when I slip back in to my people pleasing tendencies, and bouncing right back like a good muscle building exercise.

You can learn how to reprogram how you think. HERE’S HOW.

* be around those you aspire to be like more, not others who are not getting what they want of life

* with your problems, confide *ONLY* in people who’ve been where you are and succeeded. This is a must. I’M TELLING YOU.

* unfollow. Both in real life and on social, disconnect with anyone who may be consciously or subconsciously fuel your doubt.

* make social media more of a learning center. Follow the people who inspire you. If you consume stupid s**t all the time, please do not be confused when you are stuck and unfulfilled.

* challenge your negative self beliefs. When they come about - we take that s**t down. “Why is that not true?” and prove that s**t wrong. Bonus points for writing the answers.

Actively working on your thoughts will benefit the actions you take, leading you to a better reality.

You’ve got this.

I just had to repost this gem from Adam Grant

One of the most unfortunate experiences we have with ADHD is our internal battle with rejection.

“You didn’t do this right” - our brain translates this as “you are awful as a person”.

I’ve definitely been overly sensitive to feedback throughout my life.

But things begin to change when we learn to not use other people’s words to fuel our confidence and understand that feedback, from the RIGHT people, helps you accelerate.

One of the most transformative moments in my professional career 5 years ago is when I acknowledged feedback that I maybe didn’t want to hear as someone holding up a mirror and actively showing me how I was holding myself back.

This feedback, which was super direct and regular at the time, was from someone that I highly respect in my business today and when I started taking action on it and not let it impact my self esteem, professional growth started happening and ultimately led to me achieving a pretty big role.

Stop tolerating the over sensitive ass bull s**t.

Do yourself a favor and do the fu***ng therapy & self talk needed to understand these two things.

#1 critical feedback (from the right people) is not an attack on your personality

#2 the feedback could be the very thing you need to pay attention to to tremendously improve your life.
