LifeLong was honored to join faith, community, and civic leaders at the 15th Annual Berkeley MLK Breakfast Celebration, held on MLK Day, coming together to celebrate the life, leadership, and enduring impact of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

For 15 years, this event has brought our community together in a joyful and meaningful way, uplifting the people and organizations who embody Berkeley’s dedication to advancing progress as a united community. It was especially meaningful for LifeLong to be part of a gathering that reflects our shared values of service, compassion, and community partnership.

Representing LifeLong at the event were Board Member Sharon Kidd, Senior Director of Strategy & Planning Deborah Workman, Director of Community Engagement Damali Robertson, and Manager of Grants Administration Nicole Nappi, who were all proud to take part in this meaningful community tradition.

Dr. King once said, “Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health is the most shocking and inhuman.”

His words remain a powerful reminder that health is a fundamental human right.

This belief is at the heart of LifeLong’s mission to close gaps in healthcare access and ensure that every person receives the care they need.

Through programs like our Over 60 Health Center—which supports low-income seniors—and our Supportive Housing Program, which provides care for residents transitioning out of homelessness, we are working every day to confront health disparities and build a brighter, healthier future for our communities.
