Congratulations to the latest group of emergency services and community partners that completed the 40-hour Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) certification training last week!

This training utilizes evidence-based strategies to support effective crisis intervention and public safety and teaches how to support our mental health community and safely de-escalate individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.

Our participants had classroom training on community resources, de-escalation techniques, specific mental health disorders, and much more. They also engaged in live action scenario training and cite visits throughout the county to get familiarized with the services and resources available to the community.

We are so thankful for all of our participants and presenters throughout the training. Even District Attorney John Adams came to present!

The CIT Program is an evidence-based, community partnership model designed to enhance law-enforcement responses to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Grounded in the nationally recognized Memphis Model, CIT emphasizes specialized officer training, interagency collaboration, and the development of safe, effective diversion and referral options. CIT strengthens coordination between law enforcement, mental health services, and community stakeholders promoting safer outcomes, reducing risk, and ensuring individuals in crisis are connected to appropriate care.

Stay tuned for more about what we do and upcoming events and trainings.
