If you’ve followed this work, shared a plant, hired us, or believe this kind of business should exist — this is a moment where stepping in makes a real difference.
My name is Julia Mammoser. I run Spoke Pockette — a labor of love since 2023.
We restore overlooked yards into wildly beautiful, climate-supportive landscapes for people and pollinators.
This season, Spoke Pockette grew over 300%, taking on larger projects, deeper community engagement, and expanding interest in climate-supportive landscapes.
Like many small businesses, growth didn’t come without strain. A series of setbacks toward the end of the season slowed momentum and created financial pressure, but the work itself is strong, in demand, and ready to expand.
These setbacks included hugging our teammates goodbye amid uncertainty, as raids shook our community. My home — which is also the site of our business — flooded, which I'm still recovering from, and I am now navigating a major setback caused by a fraudulent client who breached our contract.
Through all of this, I’ve also said goodbye to a former team member and friend who spent a summer with us during his fight for sobriety — a reminder that the people around you are as fragile as they are inspiring.
My team and the work we do and reminds me why I keep doing this. If this didn’t matter to me — and to them — I wouldn’t have the fight to keep pushing forward.
The healing power of a garden must not be underestimated. These experiences have tested us, but they also deepen our belief in this work, in restoration, and in the impact we can create together.
What we need now is support to grow intentionally and sustainably — the kind of bridge that allows a working business to move forward, not backward.
Rather than framing this as a bailout, I want to offer clear ways to participate in what we’re building.

Thank you for being part of this next phase.
With gratitude,
Julia & Team (who make this worth it)

“The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for destruction.”
― Rachel Carson
*This year, we have a goal to restore the equivalent of 1 acre of urban land in our community. Urban yards may seem small, but each one contributes to stormwater management, pollinator habitat, and cooler, healthier neighborhoods. If every household cared for their outdoor space this way, cities could collectively restore thousands of acres of functional, climate-supportive landscapes, significantly reducing urban heat and supporting biodiversity.
