Moonlit Path Studio offers classes in Yoga and Toyama Ryu Iaido (a style of Japanese swordsmanship). While these two paths may seem very different, both utilize the coordination of the breath with movement to allow the practitioner to enter more deeply into the present moment and develop a greater sense of awareness, peace of mind, and confidence, and so many other benefits. Ashley began practicing Iaido in 2001 at the Garden of the Spring Wind Dojo in Wilmington, NC and holds the rank of Nidan (second degree black belt). He also holds the rank of Nidan in Shorin Hi Shuhari Ryu Karate. He is also a practitioner of O-syuji, Japanese calligraphy, and has a deep admiration of Japanese culture and arts. We are a traditional Iaido school, however we are independently owned and operated and not affiliated with any larger Iaido organizations. Ashley began practicing yoga in 2001 as well. Having seen the benefits of yoga and meditation in his life, he has been committed to daily practice for the past five years and completed his 200 hour yoga teacher training with Salty Dog Yoga and Surf in Carolina Beach in February of 2023. Ashley has seen countless benefits from practicing both of these arts and he is honored and excited to be able to offer them to as many people as possible. Please reach out with any questions!
