During surgery, we discovered one implant had leaked and ruptured, which is why I performed a total en bloc capsulectomy — removing the implant and the entire capsule together, safely and completely.

They should be checked and often replaced every 10–15 years, or sooner if you notice pain, firmness, or changes in shape.
