👋 Meet Lori Swenson, OTR/L — one of our incredible Occupational Therapists at Lone Peak PT + Performance in Big Sky.

For Lori, this work has always been more than a career — it’s been a calling. With decades of experience in occupational therapy, she’s passionate about helping people return to meaningful, everyday activities and fully enjoy the lives they love.
Read more about Lori below ⬇️

Lori knew early on that occupational therapy was where she’d feel most fulfilled, and after more than 30 years in the field, that hasn’t changed. She values truly understanding each patient’s story and using that insight to support their goals — whether that’s at home, at work, or out enjoying Montana’s outdoors.

She was drawn to Lone Peak because of our deep commitment to community, collaboration, and patient-centered care. From her early years working alongside our founder to being part of the Big Sky team today, Lori values the shared knowledge, cohesion, and collective drive to help people get back to doing what matters most to them.

Some of her most rewarding moments come from helping patients return to once-in-a-lifetime experiences — like supporting a patient through shoulder and elbow pain so they could enjoy a weeklong fly-fishing trip, pain-free, and build lasting memories along the way.

Outside the clinic, Lori loves spending time outdoors with her husband and kids — hiking, fly fishing, downhill skiing, and backcountry skiing whenever she can.

We’re so grateful to have Lori’s experience, heart, and dedication as part of the Lone Peak team. 💚

👋 Meet Susanna Leffers Clark, PT, DPT — Clinic Director at our Helena clinic.
For Susanna, physical therapy has always been about connection. She knew early on she wanted to work in healthcare, but it was PT that stood out — the chance to work closely with patients, hear their stories, and walk alongside them as they return to the things they love most.

⬇️ Read more about Susanna below ⬇️
Susanna was drawn to Lone Peak because of the way we approach care — treating the whole patient and keeping function at the center of everything we do. From day one, she felt the family-like culture that sets Lone Peak apart and knew it was a place where both patients and providers are truly supported.

For the past seven years, Susanna has specialized in pelvic floor physical therapy. Seeing the impact that education and compassionate care can have on someone who’s lived with chronic pelvic pain for most of their life never gets old. Simply having symptoms acknowledged — and then giving patients tools to reduce or eliminate that pain — is what makes this work so meaningful to her.

As Clinic Director, Susanna brings that same empathy, expertise, and patient-first mindset into everything she does — for both her patients and her team. We’re grateful to have Susanna leading our Helena clinic with heart and purpose! 💚

🌟 HERO HIGHLIGHT 🌟

Nikkie’s story is incredible! 🙌🏼 She has put everything and more into her healing and recovery process. In celebrating this major milestone 1 year later, she looks back sharing:

“On December 26th, 2024, I was skiing with my husband- killer powder day with free refills all day long. We were cruising through the trees (me, desperately trying to keep up), and I hit a small headwall that I didn’t see. I completely crashed. My left ski ejected, unfortunately my right ski did not. I experienced the most excruciating pain in my entire life. I ended up having emergency surgery that night for a shattered right tibia and fibula. I remember the first PT appointment where I had to take my sock off; I had a complete meltdown and panic attack. It was awful. Heidi Bowman stuck with me for 11 months and was there for every single celebration and firsts- putting on my right shoe for the first time, biking, my first day back driving, walking without crutches, getting my screws taken out in July, and running on the treadmill. Jahnel, the patient coordinator, is also lights out. She prioritized my 7AM appointments, called me constantly to fit me into last minute openings, assisted me with Big Sky Bandage when my insurance was out of network, and she rooted for me so hard on the side lines when I was struggling. I had my last official day of PT on 12/17 and had my last strength test, where my right leg turned out to be 10% stronger than my left. I had been terrified at the idea of skiing again, but Heidi really encouraged me to go out at least once before my 1-year anniversary. I’m so proud of myself for facing my fears and taking her advice. Hitting Bad Dog on my second run really put me on a high and made me feel like Nikkie again. This team is amazing & I am genuinely so grateful we have them here in Big Sky. It was hard, exhausting, and long, but completely worth every minute to be happy and healthy again... and to get back on the horse with skiing!” ⛷️🚠❄️🎿

Huge congratulations from all of us here at Lone Peak, Nikkie! We can’t wait to continue cheering you on and taking some laps with you this season! 💪🏼

👋 Meet Jenna Bach, PT, DPT — one of our amazing physical therapists at our Bozeman clinic!

Jenna’s path to PT started with athletic training, but along the way she realized what she loved most — helping people truly understand their bodies and move better — lived fully in physical therapy. That shift opened the door to working with a wide range of patients and supporting them in ways that go far beyond rehab.

⬇️ Read more about Jenna below ⬇️
From the moment she met the Lone Peak team, Jenna felt inspired by the culture of growth — for both patients and staff. Being surrounded by knowledgeable leaders, directors, and teammates continues to push her to grow as both a provider and a person.

What excites Jenna most is helping people return to what matters most to them — whether that’s picking up grandkids, hitting a PR on the squat rack, hunting elk, or taking on the next adventure life throws their way. Teaching patients about their bodies and empowering them to care for themselves is at the heart of everything she does.

Outside the clinic, Jenna stays busy traveling, cooking, learning the art of fly fishing, hiking around Montana, and spending time with her pet bunnies. 🐰 She also sneaks in scuba diving trips whenever she can to warmer corners of the world. We’re so glad to have Jenna as part of the Lone Peak team! 💚

👋 Meet Anthony VanHorn, PT, DPT — one of our amazing physical therapists here at our Four Corners clinic!
For Tony, physical therapy is more than restoring movement — it’s about helping people reclaim the parts of their lives that matter most. Guiding patients through recovery, watching confidence return, and seeing someone get back to the activities that make them feel like themselves again is what fuels his passion every day.
⬇️ Read more about Tony below ⬇️

Originally from Michigan, Tony felt a deep pull toward the Rocky Mountains. After connecting with the Lone Peak team, he knew he’d found the right fit — a place where “patient-first” isn’t just a phrase, but a culture, and where he could grow alongside clinicians who share the same mindset and values.

Tony has worked with countless patients, but a few stories always stay with him — like someone who spent over a decade battling knee pain and is now jogging with their spouse again, or the parent who lived with severe back pain and can now lift, play, and adventure with their kids… and even pack in for mountain trails they thought they’d lost for good.

Moments like these remind him why he chose this profession — and why he loves being part of the Lone Peak community.

Outside the clinic, Tony is usually chasing outdoor adventures, from fly fishing to exploring everything Montana life has to offer. 🎣🏔️

👋 Meet Andrew — Clinic Director & Physical Therapist at our Bozeman clinic.

Andrew’s path to PT wasn’t a straight line — but it was a meaningful one. After spending time shadowing different medical providers, he realized he wanted something deeper from healthcare: real connection, longer conversations, and the chance to truly partner with people in their recovery.

His love for movement and exercise, from college soccer to swimming, running, and lifting, made physical therapy a natural fit. It offered exactly what he was looking for, the ability to blend human connection with helping people move, feel, and live better.

What drew him to Lone Peak was the heart behind the company’s mission. The commitment to 1:1 care, the founder’s vision for what PT should be, and the chance to serve a community that lives boldly in Montana’s outdoors all made it an easy “yes.” His time treating in Big Sky left a lasting impact — working with athletes and adventurers whose biggest challenge was usually doing too much too soon.

Some of Andrew’s favorite moments as a PT happen far beyond the clinic walls — like skiing next to former patients on the same runs they once thought they’d never see again. Hearing a “Look what I’m doing again!” never gets old. ❄️⛷️

We’re lucky to have Andrew leading our Bozeman team with purpose, passion, and a whole lot of heart. 💚

As we look ahead to the 2025-2026 ski season here in Big Sky, you might find yourself daydreaming about those bluebird powder days, geeking out on snow cycles, updating to some new gear, or planning those fun ski trips with friends and family ⛷️🚠🏂❄️

One of the very last things we tend to think about when leading up to our winter adventures, however, is injury risk. Unfortunately, knee injuries alone account for upwards of 30% of all injuries that occur in downhill skiers and snowboarders 📊

In the clinic we are often asked:
❔What can I do to prevent a knee injury?
❔I’ve had a knee injury or surgery in the past, how can I reduce the chance of getting hurt again?
As health care providers who live, work and ski right here in Big Sky, we get it. We’ve seen firsthand what it takes to stay healthy out there, and also what it looks like when the worst things happen. At Lone Peak, we are committed to helping you ski stronger, recover faster and stay on the mountain all season long. In this article, we will pull back the curtain on knee injuries in skiing, share the hard truths about what you can control, and what you can’t and guide you through the process of exactly what to do about it 💪🏼💯✨
