You know that one friend who is wildly dramatic, slightly unhinged, and absolutely convinced they’re right about everything?
Yeah. That’s your inner critic.
“She didn’t text back. You’re annoying.”
“You messed that up. Obviously you’re not cut out for this.”
“They looked at you weird. Must be you.”
Ma’am. Sir. Calm down.
It’s amazing how we fact-check strangers on the internet…
but fully believe the most ridiculous commentary happening inside our own head.
Plot twist: you weren’t born thinking you were “too much” or “not enough.”
You learned it. Layer by layer. Experience by experience.
And if you learned it?
You can unlearn it.
Negative self-talk isn’t insight — it’s rehearsal.
And whatever you rehearse, you strengthen.
So maybe it’s time to fire the critic…
and hire a new narrator.
