Home Care Assistant (HCA) Job Description
Supervisor: Client Care Coordinator
Supervises: n/a
Functions:
Assists clients with Activities of Daily Living and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living, in clients’ homes.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Provide non-medical home care services and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) to Organization clients according to the signed Service Plan. These services may include but are not limited to assisting client(s) with
• Bathing
• Dressing
• Grooming and Personal Hygiene
• Toileting (helping the client use the restroom)/Incontinence Care
• Feeding
• Exercising
• Transferring/Ambulating
• Positioning
• Making telephone calls
• Assisting with medication that the client self-administers. This includes reminding the client of medication requirements.
• Meal Planning and Preparation
• Transportation, including for appointments and errands
• Light Housekeeping and Laundry
• Companionship
• Shopping for Personal Care Items and/or Groceries
