What an inspiring afternoon at the Classic in Pink Luncheon hosted by Rep. Juandalynn Givan and other community supporters, during the Magic City Classic on Oct. 24!

Breast cancer survivors, caregivers and community advocates came together to celebrate strength, share stories and spotlight vital resources for breast health.
Rep. Terri Sewell encouraged attendees with a message of hope, while Timiya Nolan, Ph.D., of the UAB O’Neal Cancer Center, shared life-saving tips on early detection and encouraged participation in research studies.

Dr. Nolan was also honored by Rep. Juandalynn Givan for her incredible work advancing breast cancer awareness in our community.

Cancer prevention begins with awareness, and at the Irondale Senior Activity Center, director Julie Wright is collaborating with the O’Neal Cancer Center to help educate the public about breast cancer. In this video, she shares her own cancer journey and explains how she’s helping others learn about cancer prevention, screening and treatment.
