Ursula Wesselmann, M.D., Ph.D., DTM&H (Lond.) was invited to design and direct a 2-week course for gifted undergraduate and graduate students at the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes/Max-Weber Programm summer school in beautiful Disentis (Switzerland). The course was entitled: Pain through the lens of Neuroscience and Visual Arts – exploring the complexity of pain in different cultures, societies and political systems. The co-director of the course was Art Historian Dr. Graham C. Boettcher, The R. Hugh Daniel Director and CEO of the Birmingham Museum of Art.

Two UAB Anesthesiology Pain Medicine fellows participated in the ASRA Pain Medicine Fellows’ Workshop prior to the ASRA Pain Medicine Fall 25 annual meeting. Fellows interact with a diverse group of peers and faculty from across the country while gaining more experience with advanced interventional procedures.

Happy Halloween from our faculty and staff! We spent Wednesday trick-or-treating around the office while checking out all the decorated doors. Today, Dr. Berkowitz spread some cheer by delivering candy to our OR staff! 🎃
