We are wrapping up the exterior finish on the prefab build here in Bismarck this week.

Some have asked why we are not doing a lime plaster on this build, so here it is:

Material availability: We are using some new wood siding materials for part of this build, but the owners also have some old barn wood they would like to repurpose so we will be using that on the front of this build.

Cost: Wood siding, especially repurposed wood is a bit more cost effective as a finish when budget is tight

Weather: If we were doing plaster we would have to postpone that step until the spring because it’s too cold to plaster now.

Aesthetics: The owners have a handful of buildings on this property and they want to maintain consistency and a particular look

I have been working on some interesting **pcrete mixes recently! One of them being h**pcrete in combination with . Biochar is a material made from plant and forest waste. When mixed as a it has been proven to serve as a material that can dampen sound, insulate walls, absorb smells and toxins, and reduce radiation exposure. It does this all while serving as a carbon sink (meaning it uptakes more carbon than it produces) making it a great potential material to use alongside h**pcrete. The top half of the image is biochar mixed directly within the h**pcrete/the bottom pic is using biochar as a plaster/coating for raw h**pcrete. After we play with it a little more we plan to incorporate it in our next build! 🌎 🌱

Well here it is, our next **pcrete project. It might be hard to envision it now but I am calling it a micro h**p office. We will deck this tiny build out with a handful of different h**p products, most importantly h**pcrete to create a thermal envelope from floor to ceiling. The goal (besides giving me a place to hide during this quarantine) is to create a mobile piece (assuming it doesn’t fall apart) that can be put on display at some shows we have planned over the upcoming months so people can fully experience a h**p build on a small scale. So stay tuned! “H**pcreting” is planned to start this month (if it stops raining) **pcrete **p @ Bismarck, North Dakota

It is just a peaceful and quite space on the plains right now, but one day soon there will be a h**pcrete home on this lot. The planning has begun 😊

Hey guys, my wife wrote a cookbook! We try to utilize as much of the h**p plant as possible in our house and my wife takes the lead when it comes to cooking. After guessing and testing with tons of recipes she finally decided to throw a handful of them together in this quick and easy cookbook. Why put h**p in your food? Because h**p seeds are a super food! Plus it makes me feel better when I can tell myself that a dessert I am stuffing into my face is “healthy”. Let me know if you want one! Also, we use **p organic h**p seeds for our recipes if anyone is in need of a solid h**p seed product 👍😉 Peace!

The h**p plant has many uses. Here is a pic of the main raw material from a h**p plant grown for grain. As you can see grain is just one output from the crop. The stalks are made up of fiber (far left) and hurd (in the middle). Fiber is for products like clothing, hurd is what is used to make Homeland H**pcrete. Because US processing is not yet established a good amount of the plant goes to waste at this time, but as supply chains develop and mature that will change and h**p products will be in available in abundance 😉

Got a new product to try! This is “waste” from the hurd part of the plant (which is also considered waste!). Hurd is what I use as a building material, but this right here is pellets, and we are going to be putting them in the wood pellet grill tonight to do some cooking!

H**p Research & Awareness (Q&A 15)

Q. Do we need to do any engine modifications in existing vehicles to suit h**p diesel?
——————————————
Answer: In this present investigation deccan h**p oil, a non-edible vegetable oil is selected for the test on a diesel engine and its suitability as an alternate fuel is examined.

The viscosity of deccan h**p oil is reduced first by blending with diesel in 25/75%, 50/50%, 75/25%, 100/0% on volume basis, then analyzed and compared with diesel.

Further blends are heated and effect of viscosity on temperature was studied.

The performance and emission characteristics of blends are evaluated at variable loads of 0.37, 0.92, 1.48, 2.03, 2.58, 3.13 and 3.68 kW at a constant rated speed of 1500 rpm and results are compared with diesel.

The thermal efficiency, brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC), and brake specific energy consumption (BSEC) are well comparable with diesel, and emissions are a little higher for 25% and 50% blends.

At rated load, smoke, carbon monoxide (CO), and unburnt hydrocarbon (HC) emissions of 50% blend are higher compared with diesel by 51.74%, 71.42% and 33.3%, respectively.

For ascertaining the validity of results obtained, pure deccan h**p oil results are compared with results of jatropha and pongamia oil for similar works available in the literature and were well comparable.

From investigation, it has been established that, up to 25% of blend of deccan h**p oil without heating and up to 50% blend with preheating can be substituted for diesel engine without any engine modification.

Hey guys! Just a heads up, we have been working on some building projects in parallel with our other ventures and it’s time to create a separate space for that content. This (here) space will remain more focused on health and wellness while the new page will focus on building! If you are interested to see what projects we are up to please follow that page! I will probably still post a milestone on this page every now and then though so you don’t miss out. 😉 Thanks for your support!

Tried something new this week and turned out fantastic (although they may not look the prettiest this first round). These are deviled h**p eggs, using h**p maybe instead of traditional mayo. That means that not only are they delicious but also good for you! I used cage free eggs from my brother and then the h**p mayo is just- h**p seeds, aquafaba, ACV, lemon juice, dried mustard, and some salt and olive oil. This is a great way to get some protein and a healthy ratio of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Give it a shot and let me know what you think! If you have questions just shoot me a message, I am always free to talk h**p 😉
