Blacksburg CROP Hunger Walk will still take place this Sunday, October 29th despite predicted cold rainy weather. Since it will be very cold and windy please don't feel that you have to walk 2 miles on the Huckleberry Trail to participate. You may walk only a short way or not at all. You may also walk your own personal CROP Hunger Walk with friends or family any time any where if you like. Giving is more important than walking. Please bring non perishable food or donations to the Blacksburg Library Community Room and sign up as spirit walkers any time between 12:00 and 4:30pm We can teach our children to share while helping Church World Service provide, food, clean water, disaster relief, refugee support, and sustainable farming training to people in need in 30 countries and support local food pantries at home.
Children may still wear their Halloween Costumes if they like and get a treat and a temporary tattoo but are welcome to stay warm and dry exploring the library instead of walking the Huckleberry trail. Library opens at 1:00. Please park in the lower Library parking lot on Harrell Street.
You may register, start or join a team online at crophungerwalk.org/blacksburgva even if you can't attend on Sunday. Thanks for teaching our children that they can help make the world a better place! I will be there with my therapy dog, Maggie, all afternoon. Hope to see you at the Library! Thanks
Blessings, Leslie Lingenfelser

Thanks to all of the caring friends who walked in the CROP Hunger Walk! We had fun while helping to end hunger 1 step at a time!
