U Bring Change to Mind—Indiana University We are an active chapter of the organization U Bring Change 2 Mind at Indiana University!

U Bring Change to Mind at Indiana University aims to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues, by creating an inclusive campus climate. Our vision is to start a conversation with peers, peer organizations, faculty, IU administration, and the greater community of Bloomington, in order to challenge and diminish mental health stigma. We believe that through fun and educational awareness events that are open to the entire campus, UBC2M chapters can serve as a resource that creates a safe and stigma-free IU!

Hi everyone! We hope you all are staying well during these trying times. We have a message from our favorite, Prof. Bernice Pescosolido, about the latest BC2M PSA Campaign:
Hi, IU UBC2Mers! Professor P here. In this time of COVID 19, we all need to watch out for each other. Ironically, BC2M's campaign was in the works before the pandemic hit, and now it has a double meaning. We ARE NOT in a normal time and there is no such thing as "normal". We are all unique and that's what makes life interesting. Nevertheless, while our IU research on stigma shows some real changes in the right direction (for example, stigma toward depression decreasing among the American public), there is also continued bad news that we must continue to fight. Our research from the 2018 National Stigma Study shows a continued "drift" toward more Americans endorsing the "dangerousness" of all of our different mental health vignette characters (depression, schizophrenia, alcohol dependence, and even the "troubled” person). So, as you are sheltering at home (I hope!!!), make your voice heard and your face a part of the change. Take care and I HOPE we see you in the Fall. Best, BAP
Additionally, with the rollout of the campaign, the co-founder of BC2M Glenn Close will be interviewing on Late Night with Seth Meyers tonight, and then will be interviewing on Live with Kelly and Ryan this Friday the 15th. If you have a chance, please try to tune in! Thank you all so much. Take care.

Hi everyone! Chrissy here. I finally received all the social media passwords hooray!

If you haven't heard...UBC2M will be hosting its second annual mental health-themed escape room! Last year's was super successful and loads of fun, we had teams escaping the stigma from 10 am to 8 pm. Sign your team up for a slot before they all fill up!

Escape the stigma will be held on March 30th in the IMU just like last year. I challenge you all!

In other news, Ukraine is great! My Russian has drastically improved and I spend every free second exploring historic Kiev. Here are some great photos of some of the murals I've stumbled upon. Ukraine has commissioned artists to beautify the old Soviet apartment buildings with art. Love it! Stay tuned!
