On June 16th 2014 parents of Christian Manzano-Palafox were informed that he was born with what is known as Double Outlet Right Ventricle Transposition Great Arteries. Parents are currently at the Children's Hospital of Illinois. Parents and family are fully trusting in God for his will to be done and know that God is in control. Thank you in advance you praying and for showing your love.

Christian- "mom I need to get up and do push-ups, I have so much energy!"

Friends and family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Christian's procedure went well, no complications and the OR Nurse was so nice to call each hour with an update. Procedure lasted a little over 4 hours and Christian was instructed to lay flat till 4pm.

Christian is currently enjoying a movie and patiently waiting for food. I have shared that our friends and family have been praying for him. He smiled and is very appreciative of every message and call.

Tonight, he will have an X-ray and again tomorrow morning followed by an ECHO.

This kid looked over and said mom, I need to get up and do Push-ups I have so much energy. 😁 I looked over and said I said I am happy you do have that energy but before you do, you need permission haha.

Friends and family, I have felt your prayers and so much love. Thank you for being part of our family and loving Christian so much.

Prayers for Christian 💛

Christian will have a procedure tomorrow. He will have Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization Angiography Balloon Dilation Of AOrtic Stent Main Pulmonary Artery Stent And/Or Stent Placement Intravascular.

As he is getting older he is more aware of his procedures. We take the time to talk about each step from waking up, driving to Peoria, checking in and making sure I ask the anesthesiologist for medication to make him less anxious.

As I hold his hand and remind him that I will ask for everything he needs me to and confirming I will be there at every moment it really does not get easier each time.

Christian is now 11, as a parent it is so hard each time giving my child to the provider, anesthesiologist and the staff. Friends, can you please join me in prayer tonight? Prayer for peace, for God be in the center of that procedure room and letting God be in control. For peace of this mom, to cast all anixety and fears and to know that God is always in control.

Thank you friends 💛

WE ARE HOME!😃

Christian had an X-RAY at 6am yesterday morning followed by an ECHO.
Doctor reviewed reports and we were discharged at 9:30 a.m. Christian and mom walked quickly out of there 🤣

Like mentioned before Christian is on restrictions so we are taking it easy these first couple of days and then gradually increase. Christian has a 6 weeks follow up in Peoria to be lifted from restrictions and repeat an ECHO.

We thank you for keeping up with us and loving our kid Christian. Thank you for all the prayers and everyone that reached out.

What a day!

Christian procedure ended around 1pm today and everything went well. Christian was restricted to lay flat in bed till 5pm to prevent bleeding at incision. Doctor balloned 3 areas and placed a new stent. Our boy is growing so doctor mentioned with time stent will need to be changed. Christian is restricted to be out of P.E for 6 weeks. Doctor said " I know you don't like P.E so you can't do it for 6 weeks" Christian responded with " oh no, I actually do like P.E" we all laughed.. Christian can walk up stairs and walk only, no physical activities.
Christian was transferred to a room at 6:30 pm and had mac n cheese, strawberry ice cream and a sweet tea. Christian had no problem making himself just at home this evening. He got up from bed for the first time after dinner to use the restroom and go for a walk.
An ECHO and X-RAY will be repeated in the morning, providers will do there rounds around 8am.

I am sorry for a late update, this momma here has been filled with so many emotions and was so ready to have her kid right next to her..

We love and appreciate everyone so much!🤎

Good morning, friends 🧡

It's been awhile hasn't it?
I promise you, it's been filled with so many adventures and memories.

Christian continued to see his cardiologist in Peoria every 6 months for check ups. Last month on September 10, Cardiologist notified us that there is higher pressures in the heart . Christian's cardiologist sat down with the cardiologist that has done Christian's procedures for a second opinion on how long we could stretch the time line before he entered the cath lab again. After reviewing and discussing Christian's case, they recommend him to have this procedure soon, so here we are a couple weeks later. Doctor will make an insertion through the groin and Ballon the artery stent.Procedure will start at 8am and has an estimated time of 4 hours in the cath lab. We will stay overnight to repeat an ECHO and EKG in the morning.

Friends and family, join me this morning to say a prayer for Christian, the doctors and all the staff that will be assisting today.
We love you guys so much, this momma will keep everyone posted!

---> Meet Teddy🤎
This pal here has been Christian's bestfriend for the last 10 years, since one of his first procedures here in Peoria.. Teddy comforts Christian through any situation, Teddy enters every procedure/surgery room and makes sure he is right there when he wakes up, and Teddy reminds Christian's he is never alone. If Teddy could talk, I wonder all the great stories he would share..

Thank you Mr.Teddy🩷
