8 miles at 17 weeks 🤰

That was fun minus the heat wave. I absolutely love the heat wave we’re having but it made for some hot running. I was definitely ready to be done the last mile. Haven’t been this sweaty in months. šŸ˜…

But the up side of it now we can go to the beach. šŸ˜

These pictures crack me up. Everyone looks dead or is pausing their watch and I’m the crazy pregnant lady just having the best time in the background. Running races for fun is underrated.

I can’t wait to tell my babies one day that they ran 13.1 miles before they took their first breath!

This race was so special. 16 weeks pregnant and having to cut back mileage and intensity the past month due to some nagging heel pain I wasn’t sure how I would feel. Turns out consistency wins and I felt amazing! Held back the first half and just stayed comfortable and then decided to push a little bit and a little bit more after mile 10. I haven’t had that much fun in a race in so long and I’m so glad I ended up doing it!

I’ve spent the past 2.5 years either pregnant or breastfeeding minus about 3 months. What females are capable of is incredible! never disappoints and I really liked the new course.

Late to post but a little recap from yesterdays long run. Longest I’ve gone in three weeks since my heel started flaring up. For the most part it went well but I did have some pain in my heel towards the end. Still hoping I can just run the wilmington half for fun in two weeks.

It was such a gorgeous day. There were so many tourists out downtown that I was not used to dodging running midday. Fueled by every 30 minutes. Looking forward to some warmer weather this week and a day off from work tomorrow!

This is long so if you watch all the through I appreciate you! I thought it would be fun at least for myself to document the physical changes of pregnancy (via the run) for as long as I’m able.

This pregnancy has been so different than my first. What’s different?
Less nausea, less food aversions although this video may make you think I was really nauseous. I had about 2-3 weeks that were bad but not terrible.

Fatigue has been a lot higher. Could be coupled with the fact that I have a full blown toddler and am back in clinic full time instead of working from home + run coaching.

Running has felt stronger at least from what I remember partly due to less nausea. I have had some off and on heel pain though so that’s decreased running the past two weeks.

I am still hoping to do the wilmington half in 3 weeks. I have deferred Boston. Props to the moms that can run marathons pregnant but that’s just not my desire.

Let me know if you want a second Tri recap and I’ll keep making these! I feel very blessed and thankful right now. I am an older mom so I count my blessings that we were able to conceive and I pray that if you’re on a fertility journey that you will be blessed with the gift of life. ā¤ļø

Had to tell myself ā€œI think I canā€ about 1000 times during this run. It started off fine but got perpetually colder and windier especially when I got to the beach. The last five miles I was just fighting wind and trying to convince myself I could finish. So glad it’s over and can sit in a warm house and sweats for the rest of the weekend. Hoping NC doesn’t get too slammed with ice šŸ¤ž

Cutback week long run. This was a really good week. Had a little bit of tightness in my heel for about a day but it’s seemed to have resolved and felt great today. We have a fluke 60 degree day today which feels so nice! Wilmington half is 6 weeks away and I can’t wait!

Excited for another year representing

I love these gels and consistently use them to fuel my runs. 12 miles this morning that felt amazing. It was warm and dreary out but the miles went by so fast. I felt like I just started when I finished. Those long runs don’t happen every time so I try to cherish when they do!
