🌟 Our Trauma Agency asks motorists to use caution on the road as students head back to school. Last year, 79 children in Palm Beach County required trauma center-level care due to pedestrian and bicycle-related injuries.🚸 Review these safe commuting practices with your children: students who walk to school or a bus stop should use crosswalks, walk on sidewalks (or face traffic if sidewalks aren't available), obey traffic signals and avoid distractions like cell phones. Bike riders should wear a securely fastened helmet, follow traffic rules and stay alert. Plan and practice your child’s route with them, and encourage them to walk or bike with a friend or in groups to increase visibility and safety.
