Behind every accurate diagnosis is a team member who treats every test like it could change someone’s life.

During National Lab Week, we want to introduce Kilee, one of the quiet powerhouses keeping our laboratory running with precision and heart.

Kilee has worked at Saint Alphonsus for four years, serving most recently as our Clinical Lab Coordinator.

In her day-to-day work, she oversees quality control and compliance—things like completing proficiency testing for the College of American Pathologists (CAP), reviewing quality control reports in EPIC to ensure instruments are producing reliable results, comparing our performance to peer data, validating new laboratory instruments, providing education, supporting quality improvement efforts, and, as she puts it, taking on “other side quests along the way!”

Even though she doesn’t interact directly with patients, she never forgets who she’s ultimately serving.

“Even though I don't work directly with patients, I recognize that every specimen that comes into the lab represents a real person depending on us for answers,” she shared.

Her commitment is anchored in a simple but powerful motivation:

“My ‘why’ is simple: if my own family needed care, I would want them to receive accurate, timely results that lead to the right diagnosis and the best possible treatment moving forward.”

Thank you for all that you bring, Kilee.

Your work ensures every patient’s story is seen, respected, and supported with accuracy.

1,000. It's more than a number.

It represents all of the patients who received minimally invasive robotic procedures at our Nampa Hospital this year.

Minimally invasive robotics make for faster recovery times, lower risk of complications, and shorter hospital stays.

Congratulations to the Nampa team on a year of innovation and high-quality patient care close to home!

We are proud to recognize Mandy, RN with a DAISY Award for her incredible compassion, determination, and advocacy for our pre-surgical patients. Seeing firsthand how challenging mobility can be for our geriatric and medically complex patients, Mandy made it her mission to improve their experience.🌼

Through months of persistence and collaboration, Mandy helped bring about the creation of more dedicated parking spaces for pre-surgical patients, improving comfort and dignity for those we serve.

Mandy has consistently gone above and beyond, transporting patients in wheelchairs to and from their vehicles, always meeting patients with kindness, assisting them every step of the way, and ensuring they felt supported during a stressful time.

Mandy’s strength, resilience, and unwavering focus on patient-centered care truly embody the spirit of the DAISY Award.

Nurses can be patients too.

Recently, a patient recently shared heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional medical and surgical care she received in her hometown of Ontario. A nurse by profession, she reflected on how different and vulnerable it can feel to be on the patient side of care.

From admission through discharge, she described the Surgical Services team as phenomenal. Amid the normal stress and concerns that come with surgery, she was quickly put at ease by the team’s compassion, lighthearted humor, and thoughtful engagement with her family. Their kindness and genuine concern made a meaningful difference during a challenging moment.

The care, smiles, and reassurance shown to both the patient and her loved ones left a lasting impression and served as a powerful reminder of the impact of truly patient‑centered care.

Thank you and congratulations to our Surgical Services team, including Denisha, Hazel, Sable, and Kelsey, recipients of this DAISY Team nomination for your exceptional teamwork, commitment to patient satisfaction, and dedication to compassionate, high‑quality care. 🌼

So how do we cope when it’s ‘time’ with a pet?

Read more in our blog out now.

Losing a beloved pet can be very difficult. Though it’s different in ways from losing a loved human, it isn’t necessarily easier.
