You are the co-creator of your life.
In order to see success, you must learn to trust in this idea and take responsibility for your choices, words, thoughts, beliefs, actions.
*You have the power to choose.*
Staying in victim mentality means keeping life exactly the way it is.

*CONSIDER THE AUDIENCE*

There is soooo much fitness and nutrition information out there! If you are listening to *everyone* of COURSE it will be overwhelming. But who is that person/expert talking to? Is their audience full of weight lifters? Endurance athletes? People just trying to live a little bit healthier lives? What they are saying/advising will change big time based on who they are talking to. If they are researchers, what types of people are they using as participants?! If you are not in their ideal audience…respectfully move on from their content and look for someone who is an expert in YOU.

So…who are you?

How do you identify?

If you’re a great friend, what makes you identify as such? Probably the fact that you show up for your friends.

If you’re a cooking enthusiast, that identity probably comes from the fact that you like to cook and do it a lot!

If you’re someone who cares about their health…you probably make healthy choices a MAJORITY of the time.

And all these things come naturally…because they are embedded within you. Not because a doctor told you to do it. Not because you know you SHOULD do it. But because it aligns with who you are.

This is where so many people get frustrated with exercise. They don’t understand why they can’t keep up with it, and the simple answer is that it’s because their identity doesn’t align with it!

So, who are you? More importantly, who do you want to BE? And where do your current actions not align with that desired life?

The work is hard, but the answer is easy. Build up the evidence that you are who you say you are by DOING what it is you want to do. 💪🏼

Movement is not about what you *should* do. Eating well is not about what you *should* do. It’s an act of love for the body you inhabit. It can often be an act of healing. I love to call it an act of nourishment.

Meet , Founder of , and this month’s guest expert + IWC Societé Success Call Host. Here’s what she has to say about her journey:

“I’d been a successful model for 20 years, had a psychology degree from Columbia University and what looked like a great life from the outside...and yet, my self-doubt and lack of consistency controlled my world. I felt like I tried and failed at things over and over again and began to think the problem was me.

After having my life literally turned upside down by divorce combined with the wild ride of COVID, I found myself moving across the country and being forced to start over. I moved in with my dad, got a job as a waitress, and most importantly … was absolutely determined to stop playing the victim and take control of my own life. But first, I had to prove to myself I was capable. 

Enter: fitness and behavior change. I took the bull by the horns and began obsessively educating myself, using my knowledge of psychology and neuroscience as a foundation. I was determined to make a major shift. I earned my certification as a Personal Trainer as well as a Behavior Change Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, intensively studied habit formation and where the human brain goes awry, and single-handedly changed my life, using fitness as my foundation. Utilizing this new-found knowledge, I began to show up for myself in the gym. I started to prove to myself that I could be the person I dreamed of being. Seeing my success in the gym energized me and assured me I could accomplish anything I put my mind to.

I quit my hourly job behind a desk that I had acquired (at a company I loved but knew could not fulfill my big dreams), and started Whole Foundations. I’ve practiced what I’m here to preach and can tell you with 100% confidence that - aside from the given health benefits - taking control of your fitness and wellness will allow you to take control of your life. Whole = Happy.”

I find many people choose not to take control of their health because they’re afraid they won’t see the results they want.

But consider this:

1) What if the results wind up being even better than you dreamed?

What if you find that you wind up with more energy? More confidence? What if you find that you’re fully living your life with every opportunity you’re given because you feel strong enough to embrace what comes your way?

I know it can be discouraging to work for physical results and not see them, but believe me when I say this: they are far more likely to come when you decide to be brave enough to love yourself exactly as you are and start living your life to the fullest extent you can.

Find a friend.
Get outside.
Move your body. THANK your body.
Remind someone how much you love them.
Write a gratitude list.
Drink a big glass of water and reflect on how COOL it is that your body uses that water to deliver nutrients all throughout your system.
Take a second to sit in awe of the fact that your body breathes for you.
That nature delivers the oxygen you need to you.

Be brave enough to love yourself exactly as you are and courageous enough to become the best version of yourself that you can be.

The moments in between. Those are the moments where you can change everything.
✨Taking a breath.
✨Taking a pause.
Asking yourself: are you operating on autopilot? Or are you consciously making the choice you’re about to make? If so, why are you making it?

Is it a quick fix that could be solved in a better way? Is there another choice you could make?

You can rebuild your life in the tiny moments. The practice of taking a step back and asking yourself these simple questions.

Life, indeed, is built in the pauses.

I want to scream this from the mountaintops!

My dream for all of my clients (and everyone, really!) is to build an active life. To get outside with their loved ones and community. To learn how much better they’ll feel with regular movement. To move away from the idea that movement means 60 minutes of misery that they force themselves to do.

Our inactivity is killing us. And the train of misery we hop on by adopting diets that we hate and forcing ourselves to do movement we don’t enjoy in order to LOOK a certain way is not the answer.

Aesthetic goals are not sustainable.

How can you build movement into your life in a way that ENRICHES your life? Build the life first. The rest will be far more likely to follow.

Stoked to be hosting happy hour in support of a few things I believe in with my whole being: women’s wellness and women supporting other women. Next Wednesday, June 14th please join me as I host happy hour for .id at .meridian ! It will be a great opportunity to meet and network with other women in the area, enjoy happy hour, and engage in a brief exercise I use at to help you engage in the behaviors that will help you reach your goals both within and outside of fitness. 5:30-7pm.
