As the height of show season and summer closes, I’m given a lot to think about.

What is the purpose of my business? Where is it going?

Truthfully I don’t know, but I uncover the answer more with each event, enough to know that this is not the direction for me right now.

The business and the image of art has gotten in the way of the art itself. So I’m going back to just the art, the business can hold.

I don’t need to prove myself to anyone, I’m done trying. It’s time to let go of old notions.

This upcoming weekend I’ll be featuring my “For Tillery” prints— 10% of these sales will go to in honor of my dear friend, “Tills.”

Next week on July 2nd, I’ll be at the featuring my prints, “Strange Eyes.” 10% of these sales will go to Planned Parenthood Meridian.

It’s been a busy, reflective

As I prep for show season, I’m reminded of those I’ve lost and how they aren’t around to be a part of my changing world. Many are gone because they were never given the tools or support they needed, one way or another.
Time wears us all away like water over a stone, but some more than others.
Still, I choose to believe they’re still with us in ways known and unknown. Whatever the truth is, this little thought comforts me.

Making peace with yourself is a practice of self compassion. Imperfections, past mistakes, judgements, criticisms… learn what you can from them, try to grow mindfully, then let them all wash away. ☮️💐

When you’ve done wrong, do all you can to make it right. If that’s not enough, with all your strength let go, and move on empty. Nothing changes with a fully made-up mind.

As time goes on I realize it becomes harder to make changes, especially personal ones. It’s difficult to let go of comfort and certainty, and I’m afraid of facing the tribulations that I know change will bring. How is life so kind and so cruel? It hurts to not grow, to grow it hurts.
