River Sober Living in Boise, ID. is the house that Moms, Dads, loved ones, treatment centers, and the individuals themselves struggling with substance abuse, can pick up the phone and call in order to start building a basis in life for sobriety through accountability, family engagement, peer-support, and growth. We are a Hazelden Betty Ford Preferred Provider of Sober Living and have received awards from organizations regarding our operations in general. Applicants that have a conviction record of multiple offenses for violence, theft, crimes against others in general, any sexual offenses, or gang affiliation are not accepted. River Sober Living has a “Zero Tolerance Policy.” If you drink alcohol or use drugs or any mind-altering substances, even just a little bit, you can’t live at a River House, as it is a liability to others' sobriety. We realize that relapse is a process of recovery, but If you are not self-motivated and serious about gaining and sustaining sobriety, River is not going to be a good fit for you. River strives to supply avenues that foster personal growth by providing our Residents with opportunities for family engagement, volunteerism, recreation, hobbyists activities, and professional and life-skill development. Current residents qualify for pro bono mental health therapy and chiropractic care at local clinics.

Huge thanks to everyone who came to the End of Summer Barbecue!

It’s always amazing to see alumni and residents meeting, sharing stories, and everyone’s favorite hobby: teasing Luciano Gutierrez!

It’s a great day to be sober, with your brothers.

It’s a beautiful day to be sober, and made even better with your Brothers!

Grateful for the chance to have met Connor. A life is measured by its impact to others. Rest easy, my friend.

Our Story

River Sober Living is founded and directed by an individual in recovery who has lived at more than a dozen sober living houses throughout his recovery process here in Boise, and in many other States. His experiences motivated him to put forth a sober living environment in that he himself had excelled in; a home - not a halfway house, a platform to grow - not one to stay static, a brotherhood of support - not a solo venture in recovery, an accountable and sober house - not a house where people use drugs and drink and continue to live there, a sober living house that has a vetted Live-In House Manager who serves as a leader in sobriety - not an Manager who stops in to say hi along his route.

River Sober Living is the house that Moms, Dads, loved ones, treatment centers, and the individuals themselves struggling with substance abuse can pick up the phone and call in order to start building a basis in life for sobriety through accountability, brotherhood and growth. River operates the only houses in Idaho that do not accept applications from individuals who are CURRENTLY on parole. It’s not about the individual, it’s about the environment which is unique for sober living houses in Idaho. River has a “Zero Tolerance Policy.” If you drink alcohol or use drugs or any mind-altering substances, even just a little bit, you can’t live at a River House. We realize that relapse is a process of recovery, but If you are not self-motivated and serious about gaining and sustaining sobriety, River is not going to be a good fit for you. Through our Life Enrichment and Action Program (LEAP) and our Resident Calendar, River provides avenues which foster personal growth by creating opportunities for family engagement, volunteerism, recreation, hobbyists activities and professional and life-skill development.
