"Cooking has always been second nature." Growing up watching her mom whip up delicious meals, Maricela’s love of cooking was baked right in. From traditional Mexican dishes like green pozole to rich, savory mole, every meal she makes at Edgewood Plantation Place Assisted Living is served with a whole lot of heart.

What makes Maricela truly special isn’t just her cooking. She treasures the balance she’s found here, where her personal time is respected, allowing her to travel, make memories with family, and recharge. Forrest “Stan” Sharkey was hopping freight trains out of Indianapolis and living under a bridge in Bismarck. By 15, he was working nights as a hotel elevator operator for just $1 a day. He still chuckles as he recalls the characters he met and the stories that came with the job—just a glimpse into the many colorful memories he shares with his trademark humor.
