This Black History Month, we celebrate Black pioneers in mental health who transformed the field and inspired generations.

From Mamie Phipps Clark and Kenneth B. Clark, whose research helped challenge segregation, to Inez Beverly Prosser, the first Black woman to earn a Ph.D. in psychology, their work continues to shape how we understand and support mental wellness.

Today, we also recognize leaders like Joy DeGruy, whose research on intergenerational trauma uplifts and educates communities.

Their courage, vision, and dedication remind us that mental health care is stronger when it is equitable, inclusive, and guided by voices that have long been overlooked. 🤎

Savannah specializes in couples therapy, using a direct and empathic approach that fosters emotional support while instilling hope and optimism.
