I didn’t know this verse when I chose the name Onyx.

Genesis 2:12
“And the gold of that land is good; bdellium and onyx stone are there.”

This verse describes Eden before the fall.
Before striving. Before shame. Before proving.
God pauses the creation story to name what was already in the land and He calls it good. He names onyx on purpose.

Onyx shows up at the source.
At the beginning.
Before systems. Before religion. Before performance.

Later, onyx is worn by priests, engraved with names, carried over the heart and shoulders. Identity. Authority. Responsibility. Remembrance.

I chose Onyx in a season of rebuilding.
Rebranding.
Stripping everything down to what’s real.
Moving out of survival mode and into ownership.
Choosing healing that goes deeper than appearances.

Onyx isn’t loud. It’s grounded. Protective. Weighty.
It doesn’t beg to be seen. It holds presence.

Genesis 2:12 reminds me that healing was part of the original design.
That beauty and strength were never meant to be separate.
That provision existed before effort ever entered the picture.

That hits differently after years of grinding, fixing, carrying, and proving.

I didn’t know the verse.
But God did.

And I’m no longer building from chaos.
I’m building from origin.

Grace-covered. God-led. Still becoming.
