I want to say this clearly, in case no one ever has…

You always have full autonomy over your body.
At any point in a session (of any kind), you are allowed to ask questions, adjust, speak up, or even end the session entirely. You never have to override a feeling of discomfort to be polite.

A safe and ethical massage should always include

– Clear communication before and during your session
– Ongoing, informed consent
– Professional boundaries and proper draping at all times
– Space for you to share feedback or change your mind at any point

Freezing, second-guessing, or not speaking up in the moment is a very human nervous system response. There is nothing wrong with you if that has ever happened. It’s happened to me many times and is something I’m working on still today.

My intention in my work is to create a space where your body can soften because it feels safe, not because it feels like it has to tolerate something.

You deserve to feel respected, heard, and fully in control of your experience, in my space and ANYWHERE you receive care.

This is your reminder that you are allowed to trust what your body is telling you. It knows. 💛

I asked and you said YES!

You can now book 2-hour sessions with me. This two-hour session is a spacious, unhurried experience designed to support deeper layers of the body and nervous system. With more time, we’re able to move slowly, listen closely, and follow what’s asking for attention whether that’s chronic tension, injury patterns, or simply a body that hasn’t had the chance to fully unwind.

Can't wait to see you next

What makes you feel safe?

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been searching for what it means to feel safe.

Not just in the sense of locked doors, but in that quiet, internal way where my body unclenches, my breath softens, and I finally feel like I belong without trying. A lot of my work is rooted in trauma-informed care, and in that world there’s a particular perception of safety.

Being safe is different than feeling safe.

Many of us didn’t grow up in homes that felt this way. We learned to move quietly, to anticipate others moods, to make ourselves smaller so we wouldn’t be in the way. Those early experiences shape how our nervous system learns to protect us, sometimes by staying tense, watchful, or on vigilant, on alert.

But what I’ve come to understand is that safety can be built.

It’s not something you either have or don’t but it’s something you can learn to create. The fact that I’ve been able to build a safe home (that WE have been able to build a safe home) is the biggest accomplishment of my life. No small feat.

Safety is built through beauty, warmth, and attention and in the small ways we care for ourselves and our spaces. It lives in the glow of a candle, in the sound of your pup sleeping soundly, in daily routines, loving community, and DEEP rest.

Safety is also built through people and practices that remind our bodies we no longer have to brace for impact. When we slow down, when we breathe, when we speak to ourselves with kindness, we’re teaching our bodies that we’re safe enough to be here.

This is the quiet, often heavy work of healing: rebuilding a sense of safety from the inside out.

What makes you feel safe?

The trip I’ve been waiting for! I am leading a gorgeous retreat in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 so I’ll be out of the treatment room for a couple of weeks in May.

I still have a few spots available next week and the following and I’d love to take care of you! Please look ahead as well as I know my books will fill quickly upon my return.

Travel inspires me SO much and I can’t believe I get to practice bodywork in Scotland. A dream come true. If you’ve been interested in traveling abroad in a retreat like setting I would love to have you sometime. I’ll be sharing my next international retreat SOON so keep your eyes peeled.

Love you all!

I am personally focusing on receiving regular bodywork, strength training, sweating to death in my sauna, and running this season :)

Anyone else storing tension in their neck from an injury, hands on work, repetitively having their head forward, etc etc etc?????? SO much gets stored here.

I LOVE working on the neck and as someone who has rehabbed from a pretty gnarly neck injury, I know how grating it can be to experience pain in this region.
