I want to say this clearly, in case no one ever has…
You always have full autonomy over your body.
At any point in a session (of any kind), you are allowed to ask questions, adjust, speak up, or even end the session entirely. You never have to override a feeling of discomfort to be polite.
A safe and ethical massage should always include
– Clear communication before and during your session
– Ongoing, informed consent
– Professional boundaries and proper draping at all times
– Space for you to share feedback or change your mind at any point
Freezing, second-guessing, or not speaking up in the moment is a very human nervous system response. There is nothing wrong with you if that has ever happened. It’s happened to me many times and is something I’m working on still today.
My intention in my work is to create a space where your body can soften because it feels safe, not because it feels like it has to tolerate something.
You deserve to feel respected, heard, and fully in control of your experience, in my space and ANYWHERE you receive care.
This is your reminder that you are allowed to trust what your body is telling you. It knows. 💛
