Ever felt gaslit from a practitioner who says “it’s probably just stress”!?

Here’s the thing. It could be stress… but there is a lot you can do to support your nervous system (outside of just removing your stress… because we know that’s not going to happen).

When you’re under a lot of stress your body shifts into a fight or flight mode. You have less blood flow going towards digestion, your stomach acid decreases, and your gastric motility actually slows down. So yah.. it’s a gut thing now!

A constant state of stress actually keeps your gut and brain from communicating properly. Signals that tell your stomach to release stomach acid and your pancreas to release digestive enzymes stop functioning properly.

Here comes the bloating, constipation, reflux, and diarrhea!

Healing your gut might not look like a few minutes of meditation a day or some talk therapy to reduce stress. You might actually need to assess your entire routine and SLOW DOWN so you can finally shift into a rest and guest state.

We have been getting a lot of questions about creatine lately and wanted to share some research and thoughts.

Most people hear about taking creatine for muscle growth but there is some great emerging research about its potential in cognitive support 🧠

The main thing to highlight is that when paired with optimal nutrition/ protein intake and resistance training it can give you a little boost of energy to benefit your workout. 🏋️

On its own its not going to magically shed fat or give you a six pack, so like anything else, it’s not a magic supplement and we feel some of the marketing is getting a little out of control!

Overall, it used appropriately it gets a green light 🚦 from us!

Here is some produce that is in season for the month of January!

Buying seasonal produce is a great way to support local farmers in your area (farmers markets or looking for local producers at your grocery store)

Also, purchasing seasonal produce can save you money! When certain fruits & veggies are in season, there will be larger quantities of them which means grocery stores are more likely to have sales.

When produce is in season it also just tastes better!
