Ask yourself: what features do I want to enhance… and what would I rather soften? Once you know, apply it everywhere — your basic tees, tanks, swimsuits, even dress silhouettes.

Should you be wearing a V neckline?

It’s a small detail, but it can completely change how your proportions look.

A V or U neckline helps soften broader shoulders by breaking up that strong horizontal line with a deeper vertical shape (these necklines are always deeper than they are wide).

It also helps separate and downplay a fuller bust—avoiding that “uni-boob” effect and creating more definition.

And if your shoulders are wider than your hips, a V neckline can help create balance between your upper and lower body, giving you a longer, more streamlined look.

Sometimes the shift isn’t about buying something new—it’s about choosing a different shape.

GRWM to style a new client 🤍✨

I can still remember the first time a client cried in front of me. She had recently had a baby and was feeling like she didn’t know how to dress after all the changes she was experiencing. She booked her appointment and shared that she didn’t have a lot to spend on additional appointments or an entirely new wardrobe.

When we met for our first session, she revealed that she was apprehensive about the idea of working with a stylist. The idea of inviting someone to look at her closet and help her figure out how to dress her own body felt discouraging—even a bit silly. “Shouldn’t I be able to just figure this out for myself?” she wondered out loud. I quickly assured her that she was not alone in feeling this way.

While there is an oversupply of fashion advice, there is a scarcity of resources to help you build a foundational wardrobe that works for you and your unique body, lifestyle, and preferences. It’s no surprise that so many of us can’t “just figure it out” for ourselves. And because how we dress is such a big part of how we show up in the world, it is natural to have some form of anxiety about getting it right.

BUT the good news is figuring out your style and what truly suits your lifestyle is absolutely something you CAN learn.
