Our PGY3 class had a great time attending the management of facial trauma course this past weekend in Kansas City. It is a great educational experience with lots of hands on learning, the PGY3 class looks forward to this conference every year! 💀🪛🩻

We had an excellent time at PSTM25 in New Orleans! Several residents were selected for podium presentations where they presented their research on a wide variety of topics. The annual meeting is always attended by our chief residents who found time to have some fun in between lectures and networking events. We cannot wait until next year!

We would like to congratulate PGY 5, Ryoko Hamaguchi on her two recent podium presentations at the 50th Anniversary Meeting of ISPAN (International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses), one on her lessons and pearls learned at the intersection of medical illustration and medicine, the other as a joint presentation with Michele McCullough, MSN, RN, AMB-BC, CPSN (President-Elect of ISPAN and our incredible clinic nurse at Faulkner Hospital) on their pilot quality improvement project implementing visual infographics to breast reconstruction perioperative care.

Ryoko’s decade long work as a medical illustrator is a deeply ingrained aspect of her persona as a budding reconstructive surgeon and she is very grateful to the residency program for being unconditionally supportive and encouraging of her passion for art as a mode of communication in education! We are so lucky to have Ryoko as a resident and her beautifully illustrated presentations especially at resident led curriculum sessions!

Finally, we would like to welcome Savo, who grew up in Beirut, Lebanon. He went to undergrad and medical school at the American University of Beirut. He recently graduated from general surgery residency here Outside of the hospital, he enjoys basketball, street photography, traveling, exploring new cultures and discovering hidden food hotspots. We are so excited to welcome all the new integrated and independent residents to the Harvard PRS family!!

We would also to like to welcome our two new independent residents that joined this year! First, we have Devin Clegg, who is from Liverpool, NY. He completed undergrad at Le Moyne College, med school at SUNY Upstate, and recently graduated from general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee. Outside of the OR, he enjoys running, rock climbing, reading, traveling, and spending time with his wife - Emily and their dog, Finn! Welcome to Boston, Devin!

We had a fantastic time in our rhinoplasty lab and grand rounds lecture learning about complex revision rhinoplasty from our alumnus .richard.reish. One of the hallmarks of our program is our incredible alumni network which includes experts in every aspect of plastic surgery. Looking forward to seeing everyone at PTSM!

We are very happy to announce our PGY4 Dr. Uriel Sanchez and his now wife Dr. Katie Kim were married yesterday in Boston! We are so happy for both Uri and Katie and look forward to many happy years ahead!

✨ Last but not least in our intern spotlight series is Varsha Harish, she grew up in the suburbs of Boston in Acton, MA and then went to Georgetown for both undergrad and medical school. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, knitting, and traveling. Welcome back to Boston, we are looking forward to the next 6 years with you !! 🤩
