1975: A Vietnamese Diaspora Commemoration Initiative

An intergenerational effort to commemorate the impacts and legacies of war on Vietnamese families of the diaspora

This past weekend, our 1975 team had the honor of attending the Third Gala & Awards hosted by Boston Little Saigon, where we celebrated the individuals and organizations shaping and uplifting our cultural landscape. The night served as a powerful reminder of how far our community has come and how far we are committed to going even further with each other.

We are also proud to share that our lead artist, Tran, was recognized as an awardee that evening.

We want to take a moment to thank all of the community members for helping shape, strengthen, and uplift New England’s first Vietnamese Cultural District together in all walks of life 💙 A special thank you to Boston Little Saigon for being an invaluable fiscal sponsor of 1975’s work.

Cuối tuần vừa rồi, nhóm1975 rất vinh dự được tham dự Đêm Gala & Trao Giải lần thứ ba do Boston Little Saigon tổ chức, nơi chúng tôi cùng chung vui và tôn vinh những cá nhân và tổ chức đang góp phần xây dựng, gìn giữ, và nâng đỡ đời sống văn hóa của cộng đồng mình. Đêm Gala là một đêm nhắc nhở về sức mạnh của đoạn đường chúng ta đã đi qua và cam kết tiếp tục bước xa hơn cùng nhau.

Chúng tôi cũng rất tự hào rằng họa sĩ chính của nhóm 1975, Trân, đã được nhận giải trong đêm ấy.

Xin gửi lời cảm ơn đến toàn thể cộng đồng đã cùng nhau hình thành, củng cố, và nâng đỡ Khu Văn Hoá Việt Nam đầu tiên của New England trên mọi nẻo đường 💙 Và đặc biệt cảm ơn Boston Little Saigon, đơn vị bảo trợ tài chính vô cùng quý giá của công việc của Đài Tưởng Niệm 1975.

As this month of gratitude and reflection comes to a close, we continue to honor Native American Heritage Month and the original stewards of this land. The 1975: A Vietnamese Diaspora Memorial stands on Indigenous homelands, where Indigenous presence is ongoing, not past. With deep gratitude, we commit to uplifting Indigenous artists and organizers, caring for sacred land, and aligning our work with those whose roots run deepest.

On this Veterans Day, we honor all who have served and sacrificed — including Vietnamese and American veterans whose intertwined histories continue to shape our communities.

Today, we reflect on the courage of those who served, and on the generations who continue to heal, rebuild, and connect across borders. 💛

Khi Hành Trình Của Ánh Sáng: Cánh Đồng Ký Ức 1975 khép lại, chúng tôi cùng nhìn lại tất cả những bàn tay và tấm lòng đã góp phần làm nên ánh sáng ấy, từ lúc dựng cho đến khi thu dọn. 🌕💛

✨ Journey of Light: A 1975 Memory Field ✨

A couple of weeks ago, Town Field Park lit up with stories, memories, and glowing nón lá lanterns. It was a heartwarming gathering to honor our veterans and refugee community, filled with reflection, connection, and resilience. 🌕💛

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us and made this evening so meaningful!
