The new 2026 Hypertension guidelines are here… and they’re fine. Mostly a remix of lifestyle advice + slightly new thresholds (and a little too much salt blame).

Some (familiar) highlights:
💢 Stage 1 = ≥130/≥80 mm Hg → lifestyle changes unless higher CVD risk
💊 Stage 2 = ≥140/≥90 mm Hg → start meds (thiazides or ARBs-- best evidence)

🌾 No gluten challenge, no problem.

Diagnosing celiac disease has long required weeks of gluten exposure and invasive tests. But a new blood test could change the game. By detecting gluten-specific T cells and measuring IL-2, this test identifies immune reactions without reintroducing gluten.

Key findings:
🔑 90% sensitivity and 97% specificity.
🔑 Reliable detection even in long-term gluten-free patients.
🔑 While not yet clinic-ready, this test could simplify diagnosis for patients navigating the gluten-free minefield.
