Group FAQ: Why was my membership request declined?
Your membership may be declined for a few different reasons. If you need assistance with your membership request for something that is not addressed below, please contact our admin page via dm.
AUTOMATED FEATURES
We use Admin Assist features in the group for many tasks. One of these automates what to do with pending membership requests.
The tool automatically declines requests when…
• One or more membership questions are left blank
• Failure to agree to group rules
The automated features aren’t perfect, but they have been helpful for the admin team. The automated response typically occurs one hour after you request to join the group. If an existing member invited you, Facebook may set that timeline to 24-48hrs. We have no control over the time period.
FACEBOOK BUGS
Sometimes the membership questions won’t show up, or the app doesn’t let you answer them. Our automated tools will decline your membership request when this occurs. If this happens to you, please contact our admin page via dm for assistance. We will have you provide answers to the membership questions via dm instead.
Since the automated feature is time sensitive, you will need to interact with an admin in real time so they can approve your request before the automation occurs.
Other bugs may come up occasionally, such as not being able to request membership at all. In those cases, just let us know by dming the admin page.
MEMBERSHIP QUESTIONS
Vague Answers: “Please elaborate” is included in all three questions. Vague answers will result in your member request being declined. Vague answers include one word responses, answering only part of the questions, etc.
“Wrong” Answers: If the answers you provided are incompatible with our rules or would otherwise be problematic for our group members and/or admins, we may decline your request.
MEMBERSHIP SCOPE
Our support group is primarily for endometriosis and/or adenomyosis patients, suspected patients, or people who are supporting patients who are seeking endometriosis-related care.
In some cases, we will allow medical providers to join the group. Many of these providers also have endometriosis and/or adenomyosis.
We limit membership to people who live nearby, or who are seeking care nearby. Currently, we have surgeon recommendations for CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, and VT.
