VetScalpel The American-made VetScalpel® CO2 lasers are being utilized in virtually all veterinary soft-tissue For veterinary (non-human) use only.

Manufactured in the USA, the VetScalpel® CO2 laser sets the standard for performance and comfort in veterinary surgery. Recognized as the most ergonomic CO2 laser on the market, its design features a unique flexible-fiber delivery system and 'pen-like' handpieces. This allows veterinary professionals to hold the handpiece closer to the target tissue than any other CO2 laser, enhancing surgical pre

cision and safety. Coupled with its high-precision cutting, rapid tissue ablation, and instant hemostasis, the laser minimizes collateral damage, clears the operating field, and reduces postoperative pain. These attributes make it the top choice for virtually all procedures, including mass removals, elongated soft palate, stenotic nares, spays, neuters, intra-thoracic, urogenital, and oral surgeries. Its predictable and repeatable tissue responses further solidify its reputation as a reliable tool for veterinarians. Fact Friday: Lumps & Bumps

Most skin nodules in pets are benign, but that doesn’t always mean they’re harmless. They can be cosmetically unappealing, get in the way during grooming, or—especially in our allergic patients—become irritated, scratched open, and uncomfortable.

This patient came to us with a large, bleeding mass on the top of the head. Using our CO₂ laser, we were able to precisely remove the growth and gently adapt the skin edges to support optimal healing—especially important for short-haired patients where every detail shows.

At suture removal, healing was already well underway with only mild crusting. Within a couple of weeks, the redness resolved, and now the area has healed beautifully with full hair regrowth and little to no visible scar.

Surgical removal can sometimes be tedious, but CO₂ laser treatment offers a more advanced option. Depending on the location and your pet’s temperament, many procedures can even be performed with local anesthesia. The laser helps reduce discomfort by sealing nerve endings as it works—meaning less pain, minimal bleeding, and faster, smoother healing. In many cases, sutures aren’t even needed.

If you’ve noticed a lump or bump on your pet, we’re here to help guide you through the best options . We even have an Outpatient service, where the pre and post appointments are conveniently scheduled through your local practice (referral form on our website).
