Ever wonder who’s behind the red AFC doors?

Meet Michelle Amacker, the Nurse Practitioner-turned-local-owner who’s been caring for patients since 2006 and now calls Boulder County home. From her early days working in an AFC clinic in Denver, she saw firsthand what difference it makes when patient experience comes first—so she decided to build that kind of care right here in our community.

Today, Michelle owns and operates four AFC Urgent Care clinics in Louisville, Boulder, Baseline, and Longmont. Her passion? Pouring into her team so they love coming to work—because when your medical team feels supported and appreciated, that shows up in every visit, every conversation, every diagnosis, and every follow-up.

Outside the clinic, she’s a Colorado mom who loves to travel, try new local restaurants, and recharge with daily meditation—just like so many of us balancing family, work, and wellness.

When you walk into AFC in Boulder County, you’re not just a patient on a chart—you’re a neighbor. And Michelle’s mission is to make sure you feel that from the moment you step through the door. 🏔️

A few small tweaks can seriously cut down on allergens, dust, and dry-air irritation:
Change your furnace filters on schedule, keep humidity in that “not too dry” sweet spot, crack windows strategically (even for a few minutes), and pay attention to symptoms that keep coming back—because chronic congestion, coughing, or headaches aren’t something to just power through.

Holiday germs spread fast—especially when everyone’s indoors. 🎄🤧

Flu can be contagious about 1 day before symptoms start and for 5–7 days after, which is why it moves through families so quickly. Getting vaccinated reduces your risk of flu illness and can lower your chance of hospitalization, and simple hand hygiene matters because many infections spread when we touch our eyes, nose, or mouth after picking up germs. Add in shared cups and crowded gatherings, and it’s the perfect setup.

Do the basics early: get protected before parties, keep hands clean, don’t share drinks, and if you feel symptoms starting, a quick televisit can help you figure out next steps and protect the people around you.
