We Got Your Back Brian We got your back Brian! Help support Brian’s Spinal Cord Injury

https://www.youcaring.com/gotbriansback He experienced immediate numbness from his chest down.

Life took a tragic turn for percussionist Brian Jung, on Sunday, August 27. While enjoying time with friends on a pontoon boat at Cherry Creek State Park, Brian dove into shallow water, hitting his head and severely damaging several vertebrae. Brian was rushed via ambulance to Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado where he endured an 8-hour surgery removing and replacing both his C5 and C6 vertebrae, fusing his spine and supporting his back with 12 screws. While Brian quickly regained movement in his arms after the surgery, his legs have been slower to respond and his medical prognosis is most likely permanent nerve damage. Brian is currently undergoing rigorous rehabilitation treatment at Craig Hospital in Englewood, CO. A youcaring campaign was started to help aid with medical expenses not covered by Brian’s insurance. www.youcaring.com/gotbriansback

Hi Everyone,

It's been a momentous 5 months of rehabilitation and I'm excited to share that I've officially been accepted to the NeuroRecovery Network rehabilitation program at Craig Hospital. The program is in partnership with the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation and provides cutting-edge clinical rehabilitation and activity-based therapies that promote functional recovery and improve the health and overall quality of life for people living with paralysis.

I'm already two weeks into a 3-month program, of a 3 hour per day intense training regimen. This includes Locomoto training which focuses on NeuroMuscular electrical stimulation, during walking, cycling, cardio/aerobic fitness and strength training therapies.

I have weekends off, but I'm sore as hell. You can check out some of my work out videos here: https://goo.gl/eKK6Ma

I wanted to thank you all again for your love and support, it's truly the momentum that encouraged my admission into the NRN.

I'm also happy to report that Kristin and I were invited as guests of honor, to Craig Hospital's annual PUSH Gala on April 28th, which raises more than $500,000 of patient assistance funds. Looking forward to sharing the video with everyone next month.

Thanks to my new van, I've been able to catch a football and hockey game, tons of concerts, and looking forward to returning to Red Rocks to see Phil Lesh next month.

Much love,

Brian
