There is a story that says the Essene Communities would orient themselves around one Aramaic Word...

Noorah (ܢܘܪܐ)... The Word for "Light"

But its meaning extends beyond the physical sense of light...

Noorah embodies Divine radiance. The sacred illumination that flows from the of all creation..

It is not an external light... It is the inner light that resides within every being, a reflection of the spark.

The Essenes held this concept sacred to their community.. and in Noorah they found a powerful responsibility...

First, to cultivate this Light inside themselves... but then to understand it was their responsibility to help every other community member cultivate and shine this Light...

And so their communal was built on the cultivation and sustaining of Noorah "Light"...

They did this because Noorah dispels darkness, ignorance, and separation...bringing clarity, understanding, and unity.

Noorah Overcomes the Forces of "Satana" (ܣܛܢܐ)...

Satana in its ancient context represents an adversarial force, an obstacle, or any influence that hinders spiritual progress and awareness.

SATANa is not external enemy as it would later become in Christianity, Satana can be understood as anything that creates separation between us and the Divine...

What a Blessing it must have been to live in a community built on this principle of collective Cultivation!... and to always overcome the Forces of division and forgetfulness...

This is the Key of Noorah (ܢܘܪܐ) Light

May we bring this principle back.. into our own lives and to our communities.

Thank you for the share Todd White

The Rosenthal Effect, also known as the Pygmalion Effect, is one of the most unsettling findings in psychology because it shows how human expectations can quietly shape reality. First demonstrated by psychologist Robert Rosenthal, the effect revealed that when people believe someone will succeed or fail, their behavior subtly changes in ways that make that belief more likely to come true.

In the original classroom experiments, teachers were told that certain students showed exceptional potential, even though the labels were randomly assigned. Over time, those students performed better academically. Psychology explains this through expectation driven behavior. Teachers unknowingly gave more attention, encouragement, patience, and feedback to the students they believed were gifted. The students responded to that treatment, not to any inherent difference.

From a psychological perspective, the brain is highly responsive to social signals. Tone of voice, facial expressions, body language, and emotional warmth all influence motivation and self belief. When positive expectations are present, the brain interprets the environment as supportive, increasing confidence, focus, and persistence. Negative expectations do the opposite, activating stress responses that interfere with learning and performance.

The Rosenthal Effect is unsettling because it operates unconsciously. People are rarely aware they are shaping outcomes. This applies not only in education, but also in parenting, leadership, therapy, and relationships. Beliefs held by authority figures or loved ones can strengthen or weaken another person’s psychological development.

Contemplating the principles of Reiki:

Fear and worry - shared by Frans Stiene

Maybe practitioners and teachers often get caught up in what they experience, feel etc... and therefore they get worried and angry. Below are some great teaching from real teachers about this worry and fear. Of course Mikao Usui pointed out the same thing, hence "do not worry" in the Reiki precepts etc... This is so important, especially if you want to be a good practitioner and teacher. Don't instal fear and worry in yourself and others, and remember; what you give water grows!
“Q. I’ve heard of Tibetan lamas exorcising demons. What are demons?
Lama. Sometimes it can be possible that superstitious, primitive people believe that they’re controlled by a spirit and get sick as a result, so lamas have certain methods of healing such people. But in general, by “demon” we mean the energy of the ego. There’s no external demon, lying somewhere in wait for you. The Buddhist connotation is that the demon, devil or whatever you call it is within you.” - Lama Thubten Yeshe.
"Q9. I have experienced fear of higher energies when practicing meditation. This fear keeps me from doing much good meditation. How do I overcome this fear of higher energies and change my habit of thinking “I can’t do this”?
RINPOCHE: For that, you should meditate on the yidam deity and understand that those beings are formless. The higher energy is like a formless being that grasps at a “self,” and because they grasp at a “self,” they have fear and also suffer. That is what we often call an “evil spirit.” Fear of it is self-grasping. When there is self-grasping, then naturally we are afraid. Therefore, you must make a greater effort to develop love and compassion. The stronger your compassion, the less fear you will feel. Fear and self-grasping are actually equivalent... the evil spirit is only created by your own mind, by the fearful self-grasping in your own mind. For example, if you are afraid of the dark, it is because you grasp at the “self” that you are afraid and think something is going to come. Then you have nightmares and bad dreams. All of that is actually created by your own self-grasping. All fear comes from self-grasping...When there is self-grasping, everything appears as the demon or evil spirit. An evil spirit is a mind that is competitive — but it is a corrupt form of competitiveness, because there is also a good form of competitiveness. The corrupt form of competitiveness is when self-grasping is very strong, and with a mind of anger and jealousy, it undermines the good, beneficial work of others....Ultimately, in reality, there is no real evil spirit, no demon. It is all a creation of one’s own mind."
- Garchen Rinpoche – Meditation Pith Instructions.
“The origin of all demons is in mind itself. When awareness holds on and embraces any outer object, it is in the hold of a demon.” - Machig Labdrön
"A Little Advice Regarding Those Harmful Spirits"
Obstructing forces are one's own thoughts arising externally; they are also called harmful spirits. They are the forces that pull one back from attaining the state of enlightenment and they originate from one's own thoughts, from ignorance.”
- Tulku Urgyen
“Some Westerners when they go to India or Nepal come back loaded with cords around their neck and arm. If I ask them what they are they tell me they are protections and I ask, “But are you a practitioner?” “Oh yes.” “Then why don’t you use practice to protect yourself, you aren’t a goat a dog or a yak” - Namkhai Norbu
“Seeing that our fears do nothing but restrict our energy can give us tremendous power and strength, enabling us to discover the true dynamism of our consciousness. Nothing in the physical
world can protect us from objects of fear; transcending fear itself through meditation is our true protection.” – Tarthang Tulku
“As part of Ta***ic practice we feel our negative emotions but we do not see them as negative. We can look into our darkness deeply and directly and discover light there. Or we realize that our darkness can be transformed into light. Or perhaps we realize that we misunderstood from the beginning - our darkness was never really darkness, it was always light, we just misperceived it. “— Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, “Karmamudra: The Yoga of Bliss”.
“What appears as a demon is an effect of the magic display of the mind.” - Bokar Rinpoche
“The root of demons is our mind: When we perceive something as an external object And feel desire and attachment we are captured by demons, Contaminated by the mind that grasps objects.” - Yogini Machig Labdronma.
“Utilizing Gods and Demons
The Buddhist teachings talk about gods and demons as magical displays that may be visible to some people whose bodies have a particular constitution of channels and energies. Some people may not see anything unusual or are simply not afraid of anything; if such is the case then there is no cause for concern. Let's say one has the tendency to be nervous about being harmed or influenced by gods or demons; whether one actually sees them or merely feels that something bad is going to happen, one should simply look into the very essence of this dread and discover that, actually, it too is not made of anything whatsoever. Utilizing gods and demons, therefore, means that the fear subsides by recognizing that the identity of fear is nonexistent.
According to the scientific worldview, such things as gods and demons are merely superstition and do not exist. From this viewpoint, god refers to any pleasant influence and demon to something that is harmful or unpleasant. Whatever way you want to label it, people suffer depression, have mental problems and feel as if such states are real. Suffering deep depression can be very difficult because one feels trapped; the depression will not just go away. Rather than letting yourself be overtaken by the fear of depression, paranoia or any other kind of intense anxiety, use this training to look into what it actually is that feels depressed, worried, anxious or simply nervous, and discover that, in essence, it is something very peaceful; the feeling of depression or worry naturally dissolves. Paying too much attention to such states can create a lot of anxiety and fear about what might happen. The worry can then intensify until one becomes paranoid, and it is very painful to be like that. But if we look into what these feelings are, we again find that they have no real essence, there is no tangible identity and they subside; the gods and den1ons become pacified. We call this utilizing gods and demons.” - Khenchen Trangu Rinpoche.
“As for the images and sounds which arise during meditation, they are all right if they do not give rise to dualistic thought and if they do not cause thoughts to follow.” – Introduction to Zen Training: A Physical Approach to Meditation and Mind-Body Training by Omori Sogen

12/17/2025

Recent brain scans have revealed that children living with unstable families where the child is exposed to endless arguing between the parents or themselves are abused/neglected, have brain changes similar to combat soldiers after returning from active duty. In some cases, the brains of abused children are in even worse shape than the combat soldiers.

Childhood trauma and the trauma experienced by combat soldiers can create similar, long-lasting changes in the brain’s structure and chemistry. The core reason is that the brain, whether developing or mature, adapts to a high-stress, unpredictable environment by entering a persistent state of hypervigilance, prioritizing survival over other functions.

The key difference lies in the context of the trauma. A child’s brain is still developing, making it highly susceptible to having its core structures and functions altered. A soldier’s brain, which is already mature, is changed by extreme stress but is less fundamentally altered than a child’s.

The shared neurobiological process: An over-activated alarm system.

Trauma forces the brain to initiate a “fight-or-flight-or-freeze” response for survival. When this state becomes chronic, it changes the brain’s baseline functioning, creating a state of constant, heightened alert. This process affects key brain regions involved in emotion, memory and rational thought.

I am running out of room here but I will put a breakdown in the comments section of each brain region affected by trauma and how each region is altered by trauma.

If you have children, it is best to not argue in their presence with your partner and always treat your child with love, care, respect and punish gently when necessary.

If you experienced trauma as a child and never actively did work to heal the brain or the nervous system, you are likely experiencing chronic symptoms well into adulthood as a result. The good news is, it is not permanent if you’re willing to do the work. Your trauma is never your fault, but healing has become your sole responsibility.

If you are interested in Indigenous teachings of "Native Americas" please take the time to read this. There is a nuance and a difference between learning from and appropriating/ misrepresenting this knowledge and way of life many call the Red Road. Take the time to read this today if this is present in your life and curiosity. Thank you.

"There has been a growing conversation around “access” to traditional knowledge, and it needs to be approached with honesty and respect.
In many of our Indigenous ways, knowledge is not simply information, it is responsibility. Certain teachings, songs, medicines, and ceremonies are not freely given because they are earned through time, commitment, humility, and lived experience. Systems like Midewiwin are not casual interests. They involve years of dedication, initiation, and accountability, often one degree at a time, one year at a time, where a person is tested, taught, and entrusted with specific responsibilities. Songs and teachings are received through ceremony, relationship, and intention, not convenience.
Being Native does not automatically grant access to every teaching or ceremonial role. Just as in any other respected system of knowledge, there are processes. We do not call ourselves doctors without years of study and practice, because doing so would be fraudulent, and dangerous. In the same way, claiming teachings, songs, or titles without going through the proper protocols can cause real harm: to the people, to the ceremonies, and to the integrity of the knowledge itself.
What is especially concerning is when individuals ask to be “just told” these teachings, without initiation, without demonstrating intention, and without honoring the protocols, then go on to share or represent that knowledge as if it were rightfully earned. That is not preservation. That is appropriation. And when done without accountability, it becomes no different than pretending to be something you have not lived or proven yourself to be. It gives off Pretendian energy.
Those who have gone through the proper ways, who have sacrificed time, comfort, and ego, are often labeled as “gatekeepers” simply for not giving everything away freely. But protecting knowledge is not gatekeeping. It is stewardship. It is care. It is responsibility to those who came before us and to those who will come after.
Our traditions deserve the same respect we give any other legitimate system of learning. You cannot bypass the work and still claim the title. You cannot skip the journey and still carry the medicine. To do so is not only disrespectful, it undermines the very foundations of who we are and how our knowledge survives.
Respect the process. Respect the protocols. Respect the people who carry the responsibility."

According to the Chinese zodiac, beginning in February 2026, we enter the Year of the Fire Horse.
This year (2025), we are in the Year of the Wood Snake, which is a cycle of shedding, refinement, and truth.
The Snake teaches us to release anything that drains our peace or disconnects us from who we’re becoming, including outdated patterns, expectations, and yes, the “snakes in the grass.”
Its energy supports transformation without chaos: quiet shifts, intentional choices, and growth that isn’t driven by revenge, noise, or comparison.
Aligned with Universal Year 9 in numerology, 2025 marks the closing of a chapter; a clearing of space emotionally, spiritually, and energetically.
It’s the year we outgrow old identities and prepare for something new.
But 2026 arrives with a different rhythm.
With the Fire Horse energy, we’re invited to move forward boldly. Not impulsively, but with clarity and conviction.
The Horse represents freedom, progress, passion, and movement, while Fire adds intensity, creativity, and courage.
Together, they bring momentum to the decisions we make, alignment to the opportunities we welcome, and breakthroughs in areas that once felt stuck.
This is the year where readiness meets opportunity, and action meets purpose.
And with Universal Year 1 in numerology, 2026 marks the beginning of a fresh nine-year cycle.
New paths open.
New connections enter.
New ideas take shape.
It’s a year of intention, initiation, and inspired action.
When the Fire Horse and Universal Year 1 meet, the message is clear: 2026 is a powerful beginning.
Move with confidence.
Trust your pace.
Honour your progress.
Say yes to alignment, no to hesitation, and let your expansion speak louder than explanation ever could.
The Snake helped you release. The Fire Horse will help you rise.

Do you see the snake?

This is a picture of the Sun as we close out the year of the snake - 2025.
Here's some more info:

"A large, snaking coronal hole is facing Earth now. Fast solar wind from the western (right-side) edge is currently affecting us now with solar wind speeds > 600 km/s. These conditions may spark active high-latitude aurora with bursts of activity reaching upper-mid latitudes at times.
According to solar wind models, we may see these high speeds continue for a few more days, subsiding around Dec 14-15 then ramping up again with another CIR-driven solar wind enhancement and high-speed stream around Dec 16 onwards.
CIRs are periods of solar wind when the magnetic field becomes enhanced (typically > 10 nT), and extended periods of south Bz are possible, driving geomagnetic storming typically on the G1-G2 (minor-moderate) scale.
The fast wind emanating from coronal holes acts like a snowplow pushing the slow solar wind ahead of it and piling it up. At Earth, the signature is a ramping up in the solar wind density and magnetic field. Read more on coronal holes in my free e-book: https://go.theauroraguy.com/ebook
If there is a geomagnetic storm watch issued by NOAA SWPC in response to the coronal hole influence around Dec 16, I will send a brief aurora alert summarizing the event."

Again and again Mikao Usui’s teachings point us to the mind and not just energy. Why? Because energy follows the mind. So if our mind is scattered, busy analysing, distinguishing etc...our energy is also all over the place. This is why the right mindset is so important.

“Reiki, the driving power of the treatment, is the power of the heart-mind [kokoro].”

When we look correctly at Mikao Usui's teachings we see that he pointed towards the mind again and again. We can see this in the Reiki precepts, and within the meditation practice joshin kokyu ho, which translates as pure mind with each breath. We can see it in the symbols and mantras. Therefore it is important to make sure we understand that the real teachings of Mikao Usui are all about the mind.

“However, we practitioners do not cure them. They were healed due to the working of a certain power that exist in the natural universe. In other words, it is people's original nature to be healthy, and they were healed by that power. Therefore, practitioners only assisted this activity of the universe.”

We do not cure or heal people; we are just facilitators. Through our own self-cultivation we hold space for our clients, and that will trigger their own natural inner healing ability. We are the universe and the universe is us. We are Reiki and Reiki is us.

The Hopi Prophecy of the Third Shaking of the Earth 🦅🪶

In Native American wisdom, the Hopi tribe spoke of a powerful prophecy known as the Three Great Shakings of the Earth. 🌎

The first two shakings are believed to have already occurred, being the First and Second World Wars, both global events that deeply impacted all of humanity.

The Third Shaking, the Hopi said, would come at a time of great upheaval, marked by an increase in extreme weather events of all kinds, such as, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, storms, fires and floods. 💨🌊⚡️🔥

These would all be signs that Mother Earth was entering a sacred birthing process and a time of deep cleansing, purification and transformation in our world. 🌎

The Hopi understood the Earth as a sentient, sacred being and our living, breathing Mother, with indigenous peoples living in harmony and balance with nature, honouring the lands, the waters, the entire planet and with great respect for all that she provides. 🌱

The Hopi taught that the Earth moves through natural cycles of release and renewal and that when humanity strays from living in alignment, the Earth responds with a great rebalancing as a natural consequence. ⚖️

At this time of The Third Shaking, the Hopi believed that global division, conflict and disharmony would become so widespread that the Earth would begin to call out to her children and she would urge us, as the children who live upon her, to return to peace, unity and harmony with one another, with Mother Earth herself, and with all life. 🌎

At the same time of The Third Great Shaking, the prophecy also speaks of a shift into a new era, which coincides with the Hopi Rainbow Warrior prophecy, that foretells a tribe of millions of people, from all races, nations and walks of life, who would hear the Earth’s call and begin to awaken spiritually. 🌱🌈

One by one, these peoples would set aside their differences, begin to unite and return to a way of being that is rooted in love, healing, harmony and balance upon the Earth.

Many believe we are now living in this time, the time of The Third Great Shaking, where the old ways of division, disconnection and imbalance are beginning to dissolve and something new is about to be born. 🌀

The birth of a new humanity, one that recognises our shared responsibility to walk gently upon the Earth, to return to balance and harmony and to honour the sacredness of ALL life upon her. 🙏🏻

‘The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth’.
~ Chief Seattle. 🦅🪶

And the time to awaken is NOW. 🤍
