Day Habilitation Specialist
Position: Day Habilitation Specialist – Conteh Home Services - Bowling Green

The Day Habilitation (Day Hab) Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day care of the individuals served by Conteh Home Services, LLC at the Day Habilitation Center (Day Hab). The Day Hab Specialist will function as a caregiver, providing for the personalized needs of the individuals that come for Day Hab Services. The Day Hab Specialist will work cooperatively to ensure the safety of the individuals served. The Day Hab Specialist shall receive training of the Individual’s Service Plan (ISP) to ensure required and appropriate knowledge in handling behaviors. Individual diet orders must be followed.

The Day Hab Specialist must be able to physically assist the individuals to ensure maximum health and safety. Use of gait belts and other Durable Medical Equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, mechanical lifts etc) will be implemented, as prescribed, in order to accommodate the individuals’ and staffs’ physical health.

The Day Hab Specialist should already have basic knowledge of and a sincere desire to work with adults with developmental disabilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Work Hours: Monday through Friday 8:15 am – 3:15 pm for full time. (approximately) – includes a half hour paid break. 9a-3:30p Tues. Wed and Friday - includes a half hour paid break

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Valid Driver’s License with desirable driving record
Not convicted of any crimes detailed on the O.A.C. 5123:2-1-051
Must have valid auto insurance

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must have reliable transportation
Must be dependable and on time
Must have the ability to react calmly in an emergency
Ability to work independently
Must be able to follow directions
Must be able to complete required documentation
Must complete required training
Must have (or complete) First Aid and CPR training
Strong written and verbal skills
Previous experience working with adults with developmental disabilities is preferred
Ability to act as a team player
Job Type: Full-time, Part Time
