What is a Health Coach?!

I am often given a puzzled look when I mention becoming a Health Coach. Many times I am asked “like a Nutritionist?” 😆

Well, truth is Health Coaches bridge significant gaps in the healthcare system and can work independently or alongside doctors and nutritionists for a more clinical practice.

Health Coaches focus on a holistic approach to health including nutrition however, we believe true health is much more than just diet and exercise. It requires balancing all aspects of life to nourish your mind-body connection.

This was so delicious! I made it for Thanksgiving and it was a hit! I usually shy away from high fat processed cheeses for weight loss but I mean come on it’s the holidays!!!

I dont believe anyone should ever deprive themselves from the things they love & enjoy, especially during the holidays! However, everything in moderation is key! Bounce back & stay consistent with your goals! 💪🏼 ✨🤍

In my “Dirty Dozen” post I mentioned organic being the ideal approach when purchasing your produce. However, we know organic tends to be more expensive & not practical for everyone. So if you’re on a budget you can refer to this list of foods that are okay to buy conventional and focus on buying organic for the ones that matter.

Figs & Cape Gooseberries, two of my favorite fall fruits!🍂

Honestly, I have always been the type of person that only really shopped for the same fruits year round (mostly just berries) but recently I haven’t been so pleased by the quality nor the taste, so I decide to try buying fruits that are in season.

I can’t say I will stick to this method all the time but so far it’s helped me be more diverse in my selection. Especially since I love all kinds of fruits!

I typically always have my fruits for breakfast & stick to 1 cup. I’ll either have it with my yogurt or alongside my eggs. For breakfast I stick to a 50/50 ratio of carbs + protein. This a great method to go by when trying to loss weight or have a balanced lifestyle.

Note: This is what works for me but may not work for you. It is just a tip and helps me be accountable for the amount I eat in a day! Try it out & if it doesn’t work for you that is okay!

Everyone is different, there’s no one-size fits all diet. It’s just a matter of finding what works for you & your body!

Should you buy Organic or Conventional produce? 🌱

While buying organic is the ideal approach for your health, it isn’t practical for most people due to higher costs. But what if I told you that you don’t have to buy everything organic and should just aim to buy organic for the ones that matter?

These 12 fruits & vegetables are found to be the highest in pesticides & toxic chemicals that are harmful to your health.👎🏼

Now, don’t get me wrong I am not trying to discourage you from eating these fruits & vegetables at all. Trust me I would rather you eat conventional than none at all. However, if you could be selective on what you buy organic and not burn a hole in your wallet then why not?!? I’m sure you wouldn’t buy all of these at once anyway! Ya feel me? 😛

This is a bed of cauli-rice & beans with deliciously sweet roasted mini bell peppers & medley carrots. Sprinkle a little za’atar & a drizzle of buffalo tahini for that yummy creaminess!

Believe it or not, when you incorporated more sweet veggies into your meals, you will see that it can curb your sweet tooth. I am someone who instantly needs a sweet treat after my meals & it has definitely helped me! However, I will admit it doesn’t always work for me but give it a try & let me know if it worked for you! ✨🤍

💥MINDFUL EATING💥

Ever since I started my wellness & weight-loss journey I have gained full control over my eating habits. It’s not just about what you’re eating but also how and when you’re eating that helps you create a healthier relationship with food.

Being mindful and listening to your body helps you reach a full attention to your experiences, cravings, and physical cues when eating.

I can’t say I have mastered this or that I haven’t fallen down the rabbit hole a few times but it’s a matter of jumping right back & to be honest if I hadn’t fallen I wouldn’t have noticed the difference. You will see how mindful eating also improves bloating, digestion, lowers stress levels, helps reduce overeating, and creates positive thoughts around food.
