Perfectionism and goodism are what I call the evil cousins.
On the outside they look admirable — responsible, capable, high-performing.
But underneath?
They often attach our worth to our performance.
So when we fall short, it’s not just disappointing…
it becomes self-criticism, shame, and the belief that we’re not enough.
There’s nothing wrong with excellence.
The problem is believing we have to perform perfectly in order to be worthy, lovable, and enough.
