First public training offering of 2026 🎉 👊

Spend Valentine’s day with your best girlfriends and learn some hands on, practical self-defense skills.

We don‘t teach you how to fight. We teach you how to break down the body and disable the attacker. This is a self-defense training workshop based on real-life attack dynamics with one goal: to complete a single course with a significantly enhanced ability to survive a sudden, unexpected, physical attack.

We focus on layering levels of safety.

We provide tactics & movements that utilize natural leverage.

We teach how to manipulate & break down the body.

We incorporate tactics & techniques that offset size & strength disparities.

Class ends with a focused education on the Soul DefendHer, a multi-functional smart pepper spray.

Empowered Women
May we know them,
May we be them,
May we TRAIN them.

Your voice is your notification system. To those who may be crossing your boundaries and to those who are nearby and potentially in a position to offer help.

A loud explosion of breath can also serve to keep oxygen flowing to the brain helping you defeat a freeze response.

We practice using our voice throughout class to set boundaries, fend off an attack, call for help, and keep oxygen flowing.

Even with that practice we still might find ourselves in a freeze response as our body does everything it can to keep us safe.

That's why we also train with the Soul DefendHer,
a smart pepper spray with a 130db siren, that starts sounding as soon as you start spraying.
It also sends emergency alerts to up to 7 preset contacts and a call center which can dispatch police to you exact location using GPS.

Learning and practicing with all the options available to you allows you to live with more confidence as you move through your day to day life.

Why 'Wild Side Self-defense'?

To give the full answer requiress a throwback to when I first started teaching self-defense.

Self-defense was always a part of my Karate practice, but I didn't start teaching to those outside of martial arts until I was invited by a local organization to teach a 1.5 hour workshop to teen girls. I taught that workshop for several years (growing and adjusting along the way) while also experimenting with pairing self-defense with fitness (two of my passions!), before seeking certification outside of martial arts.

In January 2020 I received my Level I Empowerment Self-defense Instructor certification and stepped forward ready to see how far I could take teaching self-defense. Well, as we all know, not long after the pandemic started and that drastically shifted how I could show up to a very much in person activity.

I taught classes on zoom throughout the pandemic, made YouTube videos, and eventually got back to teaching in person.

Through all the highs and lows I kept coming back to teaching self-defense. The feeling of supporting someone to find their inner strength and sense of safety and power is hard to beat.

Even with that motivation by this past summer of 2025 I was thinking of hanging up my teaching hat. I asked the universe for a fresh start and more specifically a supportive person or team to help make the changes I needed to keep teaching.

Well, asked and answered! I found both an amazing organization in and the most amazing support person and leader in

With this new direction and support I realized that my initial work of supporting the inside (still doing that work on my other page .wellness)
that many women need support in tapping into their Wild Side. I believe that much of the work in self-defense is supporting women in embodying a healthy fight response. To tap into their Wild Side and to know how and when to use it.

I'm grateful to be here and grateful to still be teaching! I'm looking forward to 2026 and continuing this journey.
