We’re often asked what’s needed most for the individuals and families staying at the Louise Seliski Shelter. All basic needs are provided free of charge to our residents—many of whom arrive with little or nothing at all.

As seasons change and new guests arrive, so do our needs. Below is our Current Needs List (October 2025) along with ongoing essentials that support survivors on their journey to healing and independence.

⏰ Please deliver before 6 PM and avoid Wednesdays (our busiest day).

Operation Community Connect Crow Wing CountyCrow Wing County is proud to welcome the Local Mental Health Advisory Council (CWLAC) to Operation Community Connect during Brainerd Family's YMCA Coats for Kids on Saturday, October 18th from 9 AM–2 PM at Westgate Mall.

The CWLAC exists to empower individuals with lived experiences of mental health, as well as parents and caregivers, by creating space for their voices to shape local systems. Through open dialogue and community engagement, the CWLAC works to improve mental health care by identifying what’s working—and what’s not.
