As many of you read my post on Tuesday about Monday night in seaford with the man following me, I’ve had some people reach out about ordering items so I thought to share some.

My own testimony:

Long post alert. This isn’t a feel sorry for me post or an I want attention post. This is a please be aware of your surroundings because you never think something could happen to you but it very easily can.

Yesterday around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, broad daylight I was coming out of seaford Dollar Tree. I went to get one thing I needed for a project. While coming out of the store walking to my car, I scanned the parking lot like I was always taught to do. I noticed a man on a bike riding the shoulder of the highway. While watching him along with the parking lot, we locked eyes and he darted off the highway down the shoulder in the grass towards me. I thought to myself just get to your car, get in and lock the doors. I did exactly that all while watching him. By the grace of god he stumbled off his bike and got caught up in the pedals. I started my car and looking behind me to start backing up, he stood up and was yelling at me I’m assuming trying to ask me for money or who knows all while getting closer to my car as I’m trying to back out. While this is taking place and as I was walking I was getting my pepper spray close to me and in my lap in the car. I was able to back out and get away. Or so I thought. If you’ve been in the dollar tree parking lot you know you can’t go out in the front of the parking lot, you have to go out the back. So I did that. Pulling up to the turn lane to merge onto the highway he had gone out of the front of the parking lot to I guess “beat” me to the turn lane. With two cars in front of me I knew I couldn’t just go I had to wait all while him being right next to my car. Looking into my window and trying to yell to get my attention. Thankfully my windows are tinted so I don’t know how much he was able to see of me. Still having all of my personal protection next to me I was mentally preparing myself for an “what if he tries to get to my window” situation. To skip a middle part of the story and make it shorter, I tried to merge onto the highway ans the car in ring didn’t go as I let off my break so of course I bumped the back of her car. So we pull over and I ask her to go onto grottos parking lot. The guy on the bike followed, pulled in between our cars on the highway before pulling into the parking lot saying he can fix our cars for money and lord only knows what else. I was concerned about getting off the highway at that point. We pull into grottos ans what do you know... here he comes circling both of our cars (mind you the other driver is also a female) saying he can help we don’t need to call police and he’ll do it for money. Well by now I just felt completely uncomfortable and like he was following me trying to get something. I told him he needed to leave we don’t need his help so go on his merry way. But he continued to circle the parking lot. So we called the police to make him aware that we didn’t feel safe with him following us like that. We got the accident figured out no problem, but thankfully the manager at grottos was able to pull cameras and show the officer the picture and immediately they knew who this guy on the bike was. He apparently tried to approach people all the time in seaford asking for money and other things. Thankfully everyone was okay and it was just a little fender bender but if it wasn’t for me being alert who knows what this man would’ve tried.

The moral of the story is that you always see and hear about these things but never really think it can happen to you. In broad daylight at that. When I got home is when the scariness set in. What if I had a child with me, what if I was on my phone, what if I couldn’t get to my car quick enough, what if my mom and dad didn’t teach me to ALWAYS be aware of my surroundings and never be on my phone while walking to my car it could’ve gone completely different. Please always be aware of your surroundings and never on your phone looking down. Always know what your next step is before you take it. And have a plan of what to do to get out of a situation.

This is a huge part as to why I started selling Damsel in Defense_Paige Cook because if I didn’t have my personal safety items on me I would’ve felt a lot less prepared and safe. Customer testimony——> This morning, I went to Kroger and I had both kids with me. When we pulled in, there were two VERY sketchy men standing right next to the door and they watched me like a hawk while I was getting both kids out and walking into the store.

They made me a little uncomfortable but not too bad (not bad enough for me to cause a scene on FB live—I won’t play the “run home and be scared”—you’re getting BLASTED if you’re following me 🤣). Just to be safe, I pulled out my pepper spray/stun gun. Now, what’s interesting is, my pepper spray has a “panic” button that goes off when you push it or when you deploy your pepper spray. Hitting the panic button sends an alert to my emergency contact and tells them I need help and sends them my exact GPS coordinates (I hadn’t ever used it before so I wasn’t sure how it worked)!

When I walked out of the store, I put Eva in her car seat and locked the door. I put the baby in his car seat and locked his door and then I walked around to the drivers side and got in—during all of this, I accidentally hit my panic button because I still had it in my hand.

Matthew and my mom BOTH got the emergency alert with my GPS location. Within seconds, Matthew and my mom both called me to make sure I was okay (actually Matthew was calling me while driving to the location of my GPS).

I know this wasn’t an emergency this time BUT, in the event that something was wrong, I would have had help on the way within seconds of my “protected pepper” notifying them!!!! Now I know how it works and that you can hit the button without using the pepper spray!
