This philosophy always keeps me motivated, especially on a Monday.

Movement is key. Did you know that we burn more calories by standing than we do sitting? If you can’t get yourself out for a run, a class or a workout at the gym, make time for 20 minutes of movement. It’s amazing how quickly 20 minutes will pass. And it’s very likely that you may surpass 20 minutes because once you start, your body is going to say “more, more, more!”
Twenty minutes will soon turn into 30, maybe even 45!

Anything is better than nothing! Stretch, jump rope, walk your dogs, do a set of 3-5lbs arm weights & squats. Get creative. But whatever you do, move! And make it intentional.

Winter soup alert…

Made this delicious coconut carrot ginger soup for lunch with leftovers for another meal, at least. So quick and easy. It’s not keto (carrots obviously) but was a comforting soup to make on a chilly day and easy on the reflux situation I’m currently battling.

While GERD is quite the nuisance, I’m learning to adjust my diet accordingly. Again, it all goes back to bio-individuality and finding the right options for me, staying nutritious in my choices, and keeping my meals as neutral (low acidity) as possible.

My newest find!

I guess my years of coffee over-consumption and spicy food indulgence has caught up with me. Add a little stress, and I’m suffering from GERD (gastro esophageal reflux disease). Not really sure of the root cause, but I now know my triggers and I’m slowly but surely making the necessary eliminations.

This dandelion dark roast “tea” is an excellent substitute for my second cup of coffee. Note: I’m still having my first cup, but heavily diluted by almond or soy milk, as complete withdrawal would put me in Headache Hell.

Acid free, caffeine free, gluten free and a prebiotic. And with a little non-dairy milk, I think I can fool my brain, for one cup at least.

Even the best of us struggle to be consistent. Call me the Queen of Procrastination. But, I made it back to class today. It’s always hard getting up, passing on that second cup of coffee and facing the cold temps this time of year. There’s always something else I could be doing. But what works best for me??? Accountability.

I told my husband last night “I’m booked for a class at the gym.” He won’t judge me if I don’t go, but I know will. I told him again this morning. Tell someone what your intentions are and have them hold you accountable. Soon enough, the things that seem like a pain or hassle will become your routine. And you’ll be glad. Now I’ve earned that second coffee!

So, when it’s a freezing cold Monday morning and you can’t get motivated to go to the gym??? 🥶I call it Pajama Pilates! No excuses. Get your move on, no matter what it takes.

Even if you don’t have a reformer, treadmill or peloton at home, get creative and find a way to dedicate 20 minutes to mindful movement and breathing. Your mind & body will thank you later!

The winter months put me to the test. I’m always cold and craving a hot coffee or tea. But these drinks can dehydrate if over-consumed, and given my new regime of .broom (see previous post), I’m trying to increase my daily water intake.

These water enhancers by are the bomb! Without a few drops of these in my bottle, I’d be struggling to make my daily water quota.

I discovered these at but they can also be purchased on Amazon. Truly a delicious way to hydrate healthfully.

I am not paid or sponsored by the brands mentioned. Just sharing my personal opinions.

As a self-proclaimed health nut, I like to consider all options when it comes to improving my health. And as a life-longer sufferer of IBS-C, keeping my system clear and moving truly impacts my routine and mood.

I started Colon Broom last week after being bombarded with IG ads. Following thorough online research of ingredients, reviews and dietary restrictions, I decided to give this a go. I am taking this less than suggested, given I am also on medication for IBS, but have found it to be a great addition to my regime. It is keto-friendly, sugar-free and actually tastes pretty good. It also encourages me to drink more water, as it is crucial to it’s success.

I am not paid by nor endorsing this company, but wanted to share with anyone who may be considering this as an option to help kick start the new year feeling a bit lighter (if you know what I mean!)

I don’t believe in fad diets or quick weight loss pills or drinks, but I do support a combined effort of a balanced diet, regular exercise, positive lifestyle choices and mental wellness.

And most importantly, I believe in bio-individuality and doing what works best for YOU. Drastic changes are rarely sustainable. Remember, small steps & creating new habits are best when it comes to making lasting change.

*I did not subscribe to this product via their website. I purchased a single bottle to trial via Amazon.

We are bombarded with adverts and messages encouraging us to lose weight in the new year. Yes, maybe we indulged a bit over the holidays, maybe we’re still holding onto a few of those COVID pounds, but the best route to success and good health is by setting intentions rather than goals. There is a difference!

Choose to make improvements in your life. Simple & small steps. Slowly crowd out the bad habits with better, healthier ones. Recognize what’s detrimental to your health and see how you can improve on it.

There is more to a healthier life than just your diet.

Sharing a few of my favorite finds. This is my morning go-to and I can honestly say I have seen an improvement in my skin and overall flexibility & joint health.

I typically mix a half of a scoop in my morning coffee. I usually have two cups, so I always meet the daily recommended serving 😉

I’ve tried several different types of collagen with little success. Either too many carbs, constipation or just tastes awful.

Keto collagen comes in chocolate and vanilla, but this one seems to add just the right level of sweet creaminess without being sickly sweet.
