Intro post
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hi IG!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Welp, just showing up again. For myself. For the Caya Community. For you…hiii 👋🏻
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My name is Chelsea and I launched Caya retreats in 2018 as a way to combine a few of my favorite things: movement, creativity, styling, hospitality, traveling and FOOD.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pre-Caya I was a creative writer and poet who hosted weekly write nights in Philadelphia (shoutout Monday Night Writers, Little Berlin and Viking Mills). I combined my love of writing with my love of art, producing poetry in physical form and was featured in a few great exhibits and hung along artists like Banksy, Cleo Wade and Shepard Fairey to name a few.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pre-poet era, I was in love with all things hospitality and wine. I went to school and graduated w/ two majors: Hospitality & Tourism Management and Marketing. I love being able to FEEL a brand. I love small touches and exceptional service. I love consistency and knowing I won’t be disappointed spending money on a specific product or establishment. I can be internally snobby and have high standards. I believe word of mouth is THE most powerful thing to strive for and respect.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today, I am still creative in art and poetry and movement, but also in other ways. I’m dipping my toes into interior design. I might even hang the pictures I’ve collected over the years on my own walls soon - don’t doubt me, mom!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I find my inspiration from traveling - really, truly connecting with people from different places and what they’re proud of, what they’re known for. I find my inspiration in nature, the patterns and colors they’re constantly gifting us. I find my inspiration surrounding myself with other creatives, the ones who still dream and make something from their gut, the soul, their heartbreak - not some copy cat s**t.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Anyway, if you made it this long, THX. Send me your three favorite emojis so I know you made it 🫶🏻🐚🧿
