Looking for something positive to focus your attention on this summer? Since races around the country are cancelled, we’re hosting the She Runs 50 Virtual 5k in August and we set the goal to welcome and cheer for participants from each of the 50 states. Whether you’re a woman, or you know a woman who inspires you, this race is for you! 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏼‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️🏃🏿‍♀️🏃🏼‍♂️🏅

🔹 Run or walk 3.1 miles
🔹 Women and men welcome to join
🔹 Earn a race medal

HAVE FUN & REPRESENT YOUR STATE IN THIS EVENT AS WE GATHER PARTICIPANTS FROM ALL 50 STATES.

The SHE RUNS 50 Virtual 5k road race will be held on the weekend of August 21-23, 2020. The event is open to both women and men across the US. Grab a friend and register to run or walk 3.1 miles in your state at any time over the weekend. All registrants will receive a custom printable race bib and a finisher's medal.

A portion of each entry fee will be donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to support their mission: to Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patient and their families.

We’ve been making plans and getting excited about heading out to Las Vegas at the end of March to run the FIRST destination race for the She Runs 50 program we have kicked off in 2020. Then, the corona virus started circulating. Such a bummer seeing that we don’t know what to expect over the next coming weeks.

To keep everyone safe, we are postponing the She Runs 50 “Nevada” state race for a future date.

Don’t get us wrong...we’ll still be out there running, training, and staying strong so that we can toe starting lines once there’s a 👍🏼 from officials. We’re staying positive because we have LOTS of travel and race medals to earn in the upcoming years. 💕🏃🏻‍♀️🏅 ................................................................................

Here are some basic guidelines to keep yourself healthy and active during this uncertain time:

1. Wash yo hands! 20 seconds with soap and warm water. (And leave some at the store for everyone else 😆)

2. Eat real, fresh food. We don’t need to start a rice and beans diet (for some reason, those are gone or in low stock at the markets these days). Load up on fruits, veggies, lean protein, and healthy carbs.

3. Stay hydrated. Always!

4. Sleep is important. During times when your immune system may be challenged (virus, changing the clocks, germs from kids, windows are still closed), make sure your getting enough sleep. It’s during sleep that our bodies are able to repair so that we can keep getting stronger. 💪🏼

5. If you want to run or get in a workout, choose outdoors activities that are not in a large group setting. Sunlight, fresh air, and sweating are the perfect combo! If you choose to go to the gym (as long as it remains open), feel free to wash your hands as often as possible. And, please sanitize the machines/mats for the next persons.

Hey Ladies! I want to share something I've been working on for the last several months, and has been on my heart for the last several years.

I created The Starting Line Ladies a little over a year ago because I wanted to create a way to connect women through running. One thing I have learned through this process is that it is SO IMPORTANT to listen to that little voice in the back of my head. I'd wake up in the middle of the night, or catch myself daydreaming about this. About pivoting the business in a way that I can truly focus more on community while pulling in my own lifetime running goal. That brought about the SHE RUNS 50 program.

Starting today, we are welcoming members into this ✨women's only 50 state running challenge club.✨ My goal was to run a race in every state, so I wanted to create a program that would embody that goal and open it up to all of you to join.

Whether you want to run or walk the races, that's great. Whether you do it all in 5 years, or 20 years, it's up to you. The distance of each race is your decision and past races can be counted toward your totals. This is meant to be a fun goal that will encourage you to stay active over the next several years and give you the opportunity to see all 50 states.

All of the rules and a FAQ section can be found on the website. The lifetime membership is set at an introductory rate of $99, which will most likely increase at some point. Heck, running shoes typically cost more than that!!! We have additional perks to joining the club. Shoutout to Melissa Cabral who is taking on the challenge of running the D***y Challenge at Disney this weekend. That’s a 5k (Thursday), 10k (today), half marathon (Saturday), and a full marathon (Sunday). She has worked incredibly hard over the last 5 months, training, nursing a hurt knee, running through a fierce cold right now, and staying positive the whole time. Happiness on a plate! 😋
This has been one of my favorite go to dinners lately...but, the salad needs to be interesting! So, that’s why I like to add toppings that vary in texture and temperature. It fills me up and keeps me interested. Because, we all know salads can be SUPER BORING! You want it to fill you up without feeling like a rabbit. I’ve got here:
🥬 organic spring mix lettuce
🌶 & onions sautéed in evoo
😋 Chickpeas
🥚 X 2 (protein)
🥑 (half) and almonds (healthy fats)
💦 Vinaigrette dressing
