Big question I get all the time. When is the best time to pump to start building supply for back to work or because I have to go out somewhere?
When no one wants to! 😫😫😫
1. Early morning after breastfeeding when your supply is naturally higher due to (how much hormone) prolactin levels.
2. Due to those levels being high- your milk supply rebounds faster post pump.
3. AND hopefully baby is going longer stretches between feeds overnight, giving those storage capacities more milk.
Some get 1oz when starting this and some 5oz. Both are within the range of normal. If you get 5oz consider pumping for extra only a couple times a week. If you get closer to 1-2oz pump everyday till you get what you need.
