As Touching Lives comes closer to our Vision & Fundraising Dinner on Friday, April 17th, the importance of having and sharing a vision has becomes more important. In searching God's Word the idea of guidance, as a much needed component of a vision, jumps out. Isaiah 58:11 tells us that God's guidance is continual, like water to our souls and strength to our bones. In light of the vision we will be sharing with our guests on the 17th that is BIG!
Vision has purpose; it provides a goal and a strategy. In doing so, it also sustains and encourages. These are so important because one thing that vision does not provide is ease! Most likely, anyone who has followed a vision will advise that you would do well to factor twists and turns into the road that leads to the realization of any vision.
When others "catch" that vision...it begins to take the form of community. For Touching Lives that means the birth of a community that spans nearly 7,500 miles between Philadelphia and Sanjweru, Kenya. YES! An invitation to our April 17th Vision & Fundraising Dinner is an invitation to, literally, become a part of that community. What a great way to "water our souls and strengthen our bones".
If you cannot attend, you can still be a part of the evening, and community, through prayer. (Of course, we would rather see your beautiful smiles!) Please pray for traveling mercies for our guests, especially Billy White Shoes Johnson and his wife, Barbara, who will be traveling from Georgia to join us. Also, pray that God will pour His favor on this very special evening. May God bless you as He uses you to bless others this week.
The Lord will guide you continually,
And satisfy your soul in drought,
And strengthen your bones;
You shall be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water,
whose waters do not fail.
