Join Our Birth Doula founder Heather Robles on Tuesday, Jan 31 at 5:30pm for Heal Up! A free wellness series by Brooklyn Arts Council. Tickets available at: https://bit.ly/3CVGXQN.
After years of integrating discoveries from her birth doula practice, dance teaching, and artistic practice, Heather Robles invites you to a chat about body cycles, womb work, storytelling, lineage, catharsis, and dance. You will leave this talk with unique tools for creative ritual to deepen your own individual wellness practice.

Heal Up! is a 2023 Brooklyn Arts Council creativity and wellness professional development series. These workshops explore career pathways and training that offer artists an opportunity to integrate their art and wellness skills into their practice.

African-American, Native American and Alaska Native women die of pregnancy-related causes at a rate about three times higher than those of white women, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported. "The racial disparity has persisted, even grown, for years despite frequent calls to improve access to medical care for women of color. Sixty percent of all pregnancy-related deaths can be prevented with better health care, communication and support… We have the means to identify and close gaps in the care they receive...we can and should do more.”

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists acknowledged that racial bias within the health care system is contributing to the disproportionate number of pregnancy-related deaths among minority women.

This is not the time to forget the needs of birthers. Birthers and their families need support now more than ever. I have digitally supported folks during COVID-19, and know the ropes. You CAN have an advocate for your birth plan even in a pandemic. You CAN have a support person who stays with you through the entire process. You CAN have a beautiful, harmonious and empowering birth even now. Let’s talk about your desires and make them happen. I am here for you.
Email me at OurBirthDoula@gmail.com to set up a free 30 minute call. I look forward to supporting you in finding what you need for the birth of your dreams, even if that doesn’t mean that we work together. 💛
