Nourish Center is a private practice founded by registered dietitian Shanon Whittingham, MS, RDN, CDN, NBC-HWC. We help people cultivate lasting health and well-being in body, mind, and spirit through holistic nutrition. At the heart of our work is the belief that well-being is shaped by five essential areas of daily life: how you eat, think, rest, move, and live. We work with individuals managing

Movement is medicine but only when it supports your nervous system.

Gentle cardio, intentional strength training, and mind-body movement can all lower cortisol *when done at the right intensity*. Pushing harder isn’t always better, especially during high-stress seasons.

This week, we’re focusing on exercise as stress relief not burnout.

Gratitude and anxiety pull the mind in opposite directions, making it difficult to fully experience both at once. Anxiety often focuses on future uncertainty, while gratitude centers you in the present moment. When you intentionally practice gratitude, you shift your attention toward what is going well rather than what might go wrong. Over time, this mental shift can help reduce stress and create a greater sense of calm. Building a daily gratitude habit can be a powerful tool for improving emotional well-being.
