Whew! What a week!

From the BIPOC Brainspotting Intensive in Atlanta, to being honored at the National Urban League Young Professional Honors in Cleveland, now back home in New York to rest, reflect, and recharge, I feel full.

This journey has reignited my passion and reminded me why this work matters. From healing spaces to leadership rooms, from wellness to advocacy, we are building futures rooted in joy, justice, and liberation.

Receiving this honor was deeply affirming and humbling. I carry it with pride and responsibility with a renewed spirit and deep gratitude.

To every soul I crossed paths with this week: thank you.

To those creating change, building community, and holding space: keep going.

📉 Black Women Deserve More!!!

Black women earn only 64 cents for every dollar a white man makes. The impact goes beyond income. It affects our mental and emotional health.

đź’ Constant stress from being underpaid
đź’Ľ Overworked and overlooked
🧠 Higher rates of anxiety, burnout, and depression
🧾 Less access to mental health care

This is not just a wage gap but a gap in overall well-being!

Pay Black women. Respect their work. Protect their mental health.

Together, we demand better.

On the last day of Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve officially earned my Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International.

This certification equips me with specialized training to better support individuals and families through the unique mental health challenges that arise during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.

Perinatal mental health is a deeply personal and important area of care, and I’m proud to contribute to this field with greater knowledge and compassion while centering Black Women in this work!

Thank you to for creating Birthing Black and making the pathway to certification accessible for those serving our community. Forever grateful for your vision and leadership!

On International Women's Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women worldwide, especially Black Women who face unique challenges at the intersection of gender and racial discrimination. The Strong Black Woman Schema, while empowering, often places harmful expectations on Black Women to constantly bear the weight of adversity without showing vulnerability. This can make it harder to address mental health needs. It's time to acknowledge the mental health disparities that affect many women, particularly Black Women, who navigate societal pressures, gender-based violence, and limited access to resources. Let's break these barriers, uplift each other, and ensure that mental health is part of the conversation today and every day. Together, we can create a world where women of all backgrounds can prioritize their mental well-being and achieve equal rights.
